That’s a very specific scenario that I’d bet on being a very small minority of what happened. AA hasn’t earned any leeway - especially under Parker.

Is this just an AA thing or does it affect 737s on other airlines as well. I've got a flight to Bmore and then to Jamaica in July. I'll be super pissed if it's cancelled.
This story was just AA, though one other airline had issues with cancellations recently (not sure if those were 737-specific).

Are you thinking of Southwest and their computer glitch last week?

Speaking of, let's make sure those Russian operatives aren't planning their next ransomware strike on the airlines.

The airlines do a better job of crashing their own computer systems.

Acadia national park was incredible. One of the hardest vacations to come back from. Add the white mountains in NH and a weekend in Salem on top of that and it was just wonderful. I'd move to Maine in a heartbeat. I'll get some pictures up soon.

Definitely post pics, because that’s not a trip I’d normally think about taking.

Yes eddy, I want to reminisce through you. We went to Acadia in 2014 so it’s been a while.

We returned from Hocking Hills last Wednesday and you couldn’t have asked for better weather. Wish the kids were a bit older so we could do longer hikes.

My buddy has 75 acres he’s going to build on and another plot of 20 acres he’s planning to sell.

Need to back up to NE soon. I haven't been back since 1992. Still have an aunt and uncle in Concord, too.

We must have missed quite a bit as I only recognized about half of those pictures. Guess we need to go back

I was amazed at how many sites/hikes there are in such a relatively small location. You could probably spend 5 years there and not hit everything. Some of the best hikes (emery path up mt dorr at sieur de monts spring) we had were completely off the radar when we found them. Crowds threw off our itinerary quite a bit, but it all worked out.

I will also say while there are sites for everyone and we saw a lot of older people, I'm glad we went when we did, a lot of the hikes are definitely a young man's game.

AllTrails app would be huge, then. I know for sure we weren't using it in 2014.

Interesting you say that, eddy. When we were in Western NC a few months back, and hiking a pretty steep trail, I had the realization that I only had a few more years to do such a trail. It was kind of depressing, to be honest.

I use alltrails and the national park service newer app was really nice. Very little reception in Acadia so I had their map downloaded for offline use and the gps and trail listings were excellent.

I had more of that feeling for my parents in their 60s and how they wouldn't be able to experience what we just did. There was a couple in their 60s rock climbing and they made it look easy and after talking with them, it did give me motivation. I was still happy doing it at 40, not sure how many more years I'll have jumping over jagged rocks trying to beat the 10 second camera timer to get in family pictures!

Looking at the Rachel Carson Trail Challenge times, there were many 60-70 year olds, a few in their 80s and a 96 year old! For just the 18 miles we did, total elevation climb was 3500 feet and total descent was 3200 feet.

If you do any type of outdoor activity, you're bound to find elderly out there doing their thing. Key is to not stop doing it such that you turn into a rusty old coot.

Here's some food pictures too, because I made sure to have a steady diet of lobster daily. Also got to track down my ancestors cemetery in NH
