Having been on this board with you for several years, and hung with you a bit in person. I STRONGLY suspect if there was obscene graffiti anywhere near your kid everyone would have heard about it.

Honestly, I'd consider staying elsewhere after that.

we stayed atin avon NC via hatteras realty and can speak that that management company is a complete mickey mouse operation as well. the unit was not cleaned when we left, hair and sand still everywhere in the showers, dead bird on the porch, dirty linens, etc. they tried to charge 2900 to paint a room because a piece of paint the size of a quarter chipped off from where we had a piece of tape on teh wall to cover the blinds. we ran over our list of grievances with them and they said oh yes we can repair this very quickly no charge

Flight prices dropped $420, but I'm still 7 days away from my CSP statement, which should net me a good deal of Chase UR points to use in their travel portal. I think it'd add nearly $100 of actual cash value towards the tickets on top of the $330 I currently have. My issue is that I seriously doubt that the prices won't jump up by then - hell, by the end of the day. And Chase hasn't had good 'Pay Yourself Back' categories since the spring. **** trash like AirBNB and donations right now.

Shaf, that was all me, sorry, but that's what you get for not taking me to Genesis.

Okay, another reason to love the Chase Travel Portal. I can book my flights today, and if they drop in price tomorrow, cancel them for free and rebook at the lower rate. I wonder if I can do this daily until they drop in price...

They suck but I flew United last month and a good 2/3 were preferred seats. Company will pay for upgraded seats so that was good but wtf.
For someone without status SWA gives you the beat chance at a decent seat I suppose, but people can pay to get in front of you there.

Yeah, I’m buying Main Cabin Extra seat upgrades tomorrow, so there’s $78 per seat per person. For four flights.

Mi was able to upgrade to 1st on Delta PIT-JFK a while back for some small amount of points. 7000 maybe? I was kind of stunned.

What is the obsession with sitting near the front of the plane? As long as I have an aisle seat I'll sir in the last row lol. I know it's nice getting off sooner but cmon.

Pretty much answered your own question. I want to get the **** off the plane before it turns into a cat herding affair due to the general stupidity of the populous.

I noticed that when I was booking my flight for Texas. Absurd.
Do you remember when they had to beg people to sit in the exit row? Now it's considered a luxury.

MCE = extra leg room, early boarding (for anyone without status). Being near the front of the plane is also a plus. What is the obsession with sitting near the front of the plane? As long as I have an aisle seat I'll sir in the last row lol. I know it's nice getting off sooner but cmon.

All things being equal, sitting near the wings is going to be the smoothest ride, FWIW.

Front of the plane helps if you have a short connecting flight. Otherwise, you get off 5 minutes early, at the most?
On my recent flight from SFO to CLT, I sat next to a woman in her 20s/30s. Every little bump in turbulence and she completely freaked out. She would start this heavy breathing pattern to calm herself down. Felt bad for her. I don't think I've ever seen somebody so terrified of flying before.

I only care about sitting up front if I get an extra legroom seat (which I'm about 75% on getting) or as someone mentioned have to make a short connection. Otherwise especially if I have to pick up luggage sit me wherever. I'm just gonna be in the crowd waiting for the slow ass bag claim in PIT anyway.
Furthermore, if I have no bag to put in an overhead, I'll wait till final call to board. Why do I want to stand in a line with a computer bag or backpack over my shoulder then sit while everyone bumps into me as they walk past? Especially if I have an aisle seat (I am window on short flights and aisle on longer ones). Get on, sit down, put bag under seat, somebody close the door and LFG.

I'm a terrible flyer so I pay extra to sit near the wings. I don't care about extra leg room or early boarding. If paying more money gets me a better flying experience it's definitely worth it.

I'm 6'2", so I care about leg room - especially on long ass flights. The extra recline is nice for red eyes, too, so my wife and kid can sleep.

my #1 business theory is that the best businesses are the ones that prey on peoples emotions. air travel has definitely taken advantage of peoples emotions, particularly this stunt with charging extra to be closer to the front

Same but I'll sit criss-cross apple sauce if it means a smoother flight.I'm 6'2"
