What did you get for winning the race and beating the car owner?
He races for pinks.

Yep, I saw that. Still need the pre-arrival testing for now, though. Gov. Ige said that he wouldn’t be dropping the restrictions until 70% of Hawai’i is fully vaccinated. At 60%, they’ll accept vaccination cards to bypass the testing. We leave on July 3, so I’m assuming we’ll just have to get tested.

Heading to Jamaica at the end of July. Covid test is required before entering Jamaica and the US. Resorts offer free testing the day before departure.

Also, PA medicinal marijuana cards are accepted in Jamaica....

When driving to Salem from Pittsburgh and arriving in late afternoon/early evening, does it make more sense to go around Boston on 95 rather than straight through on 90?

Yes, unless you need to go into the city. Unless it's rush hour in which case you don't even want to get to 128 (which is what they call what you are calling 95). Consider picking up 495 in Worcester and take it to Chelmsford, get 3 South back to 128.

Pro tip- during rush hour they allow driving in the breakdown lane on much of 128. Total zoo.

My dad lives outside of Boston. When you say straight through on 90, do you mean actually driving down towards Logan Airport and then picking up 90 in the city? The other replies are right, definitely don't do that. Like Ronnie said, I-95 (AKA "128" as they refer to it in the area) is the way to go. Pick up 90 near Waltham, head west, pick up I-84 in Sturbridge, and you are on your way.

I have spent many, many weekends up in that area so let me know if you have any questions. The House of the Seven Gables is a fun stop in Salem. There are some tourist trap places but Trip Advisor will point you in the right direction.

Oh sht, I just realized I have been to that brewery! We went to a wedding at Olde Sturbridge Village, a couple exits down the Mass Pike, about six or seven years ago, and went there the day before. Great place!! Beautiful.

Waze will adjust routing on the fly if there are changes in traffic. Just tell it where you want to go and do what it says.

I stick with Google maps and have Waze running in the background for cop alerts. I've found Waze is a good bit less reliable for picking up increasing traffic volume than GM is.

Likely a factor of the number of users. Google bought Waze a couple of years ago, so they're probably similar under the hood. More users means a more accurate picture of changing traffic patterns.

@eddy, we're heading to Hocking Hills Sunday. I think this may be an annual trip.

Did you happen to check out the observatory when you went? If so, do they let you go into the observatory, or is it just a bunch of amateur astronomers with their telescopes?

Headed up to Rochester to see Lil Franchise at the end of the month. Based on hotel availability and rates, people are traveling again.

We stayed at the cabins where the park is located last year and didn't go. 3 small children make it difficult to sneak out a 10PM. This year friends are going with us so we'll probably take turns checking it out.
