They needed to do that before the sequel trilogy.

J.J. Abrams Reflects on 'Star Wars' and When It's Critical to Have a Plan
https://collider.com/jj-abrams-star-war ... -comments/
“You just never really know, but having a plan I have learned – in some cases the hard way – is the most critical thing, because otherwise you don’t know what you’re setting up. You don’t know what to emphasize. Because if you don’t know the inevitable of the story, you’re just as good as your last sequence or effect or joke or whatever, but you want to be leading to something inevitable.”
I don't understand how every single person involved thought rebooting one of the biggest franchises of all time without a plan was a good idea. Instead they decided to do a story relay with three different directors and just hope for the best.

They were all just having fun playing with Disney money and forgot to use Rian Johnson for all three

In this week's news that Star Wars fans cry about and completely blow out of proportion:

Bigger picture IMO is slavery in general has always been in SW universe and was the driver for much of the prequel stories. Heck Clone Wars the show had an underlying arc throughout that Anakin would half-way lose his **** anytime something even close to slavery came up.

I think it's more about Disney not wanting "slave" appearing on toys. I don't think they'll retroactively remove mentions of slaves in canon, but maybe the LEGO set will have a different word instead.

More likely, when Slave 1 appears in the new Boba Fett series, they just won't mention the name. It's not like it's named in any of the films.

Yeah, I didn't know it was called Slave I until I played Shadows of the Empire. Hated fighting that thing.

This isn't even the first time they've done that. It was referred to as Clone I in a visual guide book 6 or 7 years ago (although, that was apparently in error).

There is no mention of the ship's name in any audio-visual canonical materials that I'm aware of. Get over it.

I checked out the first Aftermath novel and put it down after a couple of chapters. I was interested in more back story between Eps. 6 and 7, but the author's writing style is weird and I couldn't keep going. First time that's ever happened to me.

I noticed the same thing but finished it. FWIW, I think Wendig changed up his style in the two books that follow Aftermath and it made the other two books in the series easier to read.

I started the Bad Batch this week. Just finished episode 3. I'm liking it a lot. Honestly, the franchise has done great between the Clone Wars, Rebels and now this.

Dave Filoni is the best. I think he’s in charge of some part of the theatrical films in development.

Maybe I'll revisit it. I read Bloodlines before and loved it - Claudia Gray is a much better writer.

All caught up on the Bad Batch, can't wait for the new episodes. Again, they've done a great job on these series.

Gave it another chance and got a little more used to it. Good content thus far, and by mid-book he toned down some of the things that were grating on me. I've never come across an author that loves colon signs so much.

Finally started watching Rebels and I'm enjoying it. I think the fact that it's a break from the normal characters makes it more enjoyable like in Rogue One.
