I wish we would have got a few more episodes of Grogu in the IG suit. Could have had some more shenanigans.

Also wanted to throw out how much I enjoy Mando calling R5 buddy. I also laughed when the map showed grogu as a green dot... How? Haha

Related comment: There are very few impersonations I love more than Hamill's take on Harrison Ford when telling these two stories.

Wait... R5 is THAT R5? Yeesh. This galaxy is small as hell.

The finale was on par with the rest of the season, which is a solid meh. It's fine. It's inoffensive and unmemorable, which is a step up from Boba Fett and Kenobi.

So you're probably not aware that R5 is Force-sensitive, and that he blew his own motivator on purpose to ensure Luke ended up with R2D2.

(Non-canon comic from 1999 called, and I'm serious here, "Skippy the Jedi Droid")

This was also a short story about R5 in the "A Certain Point of View" book that they released on A New Hope. Basically chronicles his journey in the Jawa sandcrawler with R2 up to and including the day they arrive at the Lars' homestead.

Also from that story, R2D2? Kind of a prick. Dedicated to his mission, but kind of a prick.

Re Skippy the Force Droid

Yeah, in an era of SW legend building that was built almost entirely out of stupid, that one really does kind of stand a bit taller.

Random thought

Mandos: Silly death watch cult and their stupid only wearing helmets. How old and lame.

Also Mandos: I’ll only follow you if you have a really old sword.

Equally as stupid

I mean........... if you're looking for consistency in how religious cults operate, the one nearly universal hallmark is that they do not regard themselves as a cult.

There are plenty of stupid societal/religious rules like that in real life, it's not like these concepts are pulled out of thin air.

A couple more thoughts on Se3
1) Ryan Arey from Screen Crush called it: It will break Star Wars if another character 'dies' only to somehow return. If Gideon was actually 'Gideon' (or 'Giideon', like one of those dopey clones), I think that might actually be too much for me.

2) What will become of the kyber crystal inside the Darksaber? Did it even survive the explosion? But to that point, how did Gideon squeeze hard enough to crush the Darksaber, but leave Bo-Katan's hand bones intact? I suppose it ain't that kind of movie.

Rewatch of Rebels is going well. I remember the episodes but don't think I had the extensive knowledge of everything else the first time watching week to week. Binge definitely pays well for this show. I've been a big fan from the beginning, but I think it's even better now knowing what I know. The art and music in the first season is really good, this show is easily better than most of the movies. I completely forgot how powerful Ezra is and it's pretty dang cool knowing we still have this Jedi out there with a story to tell.

Re Ezra Bridger

It was cool that they gave him a strong Force connection to animals; that was something we hadn't seen much of in SW up to that point beyond simply calming angry beasts and such. But Ezra was shown to be more empathic to animals, which I thought made him unique. But since then, both Rey and Grogu have been shown to have this same ability beyond simple telepathy, so that kind of sucks a bit that he'll be appearing in live action and his secret sauce has been absconded with.

Ha, one thing I keep forgetting to talk about re Mando Se3. Back when Andor was on pretty much the only thing I had to complain about was their use of a couple locations and props that were clearly and easily identifiable as their real world sources. It was very close to immersion breaking for me, in what was in all other ways an extraordinary show.

In Mando Se3, Bo-Katan zips around in a Kom'rk-class ship called a Gauntlet. It's a very cool very Star Warsy design. But in the cockpit the ship is controlled via two flight sticks that look like off-the-shelf HOTAS style sticks from a modern A-10C. Like, with zero modifications. I felt it was pretty lazy.

Yeah I hate somewhat identifiable physical locations and props as well. They should just do everything on a set surrounded by LED screens.
