This is Taken if the main character didn't have a very particular set of skills and was just some bumpkin.

I find that much more interesting.

Got around to watching Without Remorse over the weekend, and I did not really care for it.
The guy I sorta know who was in the cast played Dallas, the dude who gets tagged by the sniper after Rykov blows himself up, so...... yeah, that was unlucky. He had to go through 3 weeks of training (weapons handling, SCUBA, skydiving, the works) with the rest of the cast prior to shooting, and had to do all of that water work following the team's shoot down, only to die on camera without actually really getting to do any of the Frogman s**t.

Calling it Without Remorse is basically just to justify a 2-hour infomercial for the Amazon universe version of Clark and Rainbow.

And I'm curious for those who maybe paid closer attention to it than I did: In the credits scene where he meets Ritter a year on, and he proposes Rainbow, Ritter asks why that name and Clark says "That's personal"....... what did I miss that justifies that response? Did his wife like rainbows or something? As I recall in the book, 'Rainbow' arose from color-coded war planning strategies dating back to WWII, so this 'personal' thing is a departure. And I don't get it.

MATT DAAAAMON!
The best story about that is Matt Damon wasn't mad at his depiction, but he was mad that they didn't ask him to do the voice himself.

Watched Ocean's 11 last night and had such a good time that I decided to keep the party going and watch Ocean's 12 today. What a mistake.

11 is so good and 12 is soooo bad. 13 is nowhere near as good as 11 but is on the right track and is at least fun. 12 is completely devoid of fun. 11 is a movie that I’ll sit down and watch anytime I see it’s on.

The whole "Tess looks like Julia Roberts" storyline makes me irrationally angry.

Yeah, Ocean's 11 is one of those movies that I have no problem re-watching again and again, and Ocean's 12 is a big pile of stupid. Don't know if I've ever seen 13, which is not a good sign.

Further, the gag of Tess 'looking like' Julia Roberts is one of those things like having Han speak to Chewie in Shyriiwook. It is a highly execution-dependent plot point, and they did not execute it very well. It was like 30 minutes of the movie was breaking the 4th wall.

Saw Flight for the first time last night. That opening 30 minutes is intense. Denzel really is one of the best ever.

Yep 13 is much better than 12 but still not close to 11. Now I'm trying to decide if 8 is worth watching.

Dave Bautista Says He Turned Down Fast and Furious to Pitch a Gears of War Movie
It’s no secret that actor Dave Bautista really, really wants to play Marcus Fenix in a Gears of War movie, but it may not be entirely clear just how bad he wants it. In an interview with Collider, Bautista says that he turned down an offer from Universal to play a role in a Fast & The Furious movie in order to promote a Gears of War adaptation.

"I don’t make any pretense about it,” Bautista said. “I had a chance to get a meeting at WB, they were talking to me about this and that and I said 'hey, let’s talk about Bane.' That happened to me one other time in my career. They wanted to talk to me about Fast and the Furious, and I said 'I’m not interested, let’s talk about [Gears of War character] Marcus Fenix.’”

Bautista later added that he thinks Universal was “a little put off,” but that he didn’t regret taking his shot.

“I don’t mean to offend anybody,” Bautista said. “I’m not putting down anything else, I’m just saying [Gears] is way more interesting to me. I don’t want to pretend like I’m actually interested in something I’m not when there’s something I’m actually really excited about that you guys have under control. ‘Would you consider me for that?’ I don’t think there’s any harm in that. I’m not trying to step on anybody else’s toes, I’m just saying like this is what I love and I’m seriously passionate about this. ‘I can do a good job for you guys on this.’”
Bautista as Marcus in a Gears movie would be absolutely **** insane. This needs to happen now that I know how passionate he is about the role.
