Anyone see Joe with Nicolas Cage. About 30 minutes in and it's kind of a quiet, not sure where this is going movie. Not in a bad way.

I just saw Orca for the first time last week and actually enjoyed it, speaking of animal movies.

I watched it a month or so ago. Not bad. I enjoy those kinds of white trash crime dramas. Check out Blue Ruin and A Single Shot. Both are better than Joe.

I only watched once and it has to be 10+ years ago. I thought it was really boring at the time. I'll have to revisit it. Ideally, I'd watch it just before going on a whale watching tour.

As hokey as the abortion scene was it really got me into the movie.
Yes, I spoiler tagged a movie from 1977.

Watched Exodus: Gods and Kings last night. It was both too long and not long enough. At 2:20 run time, someone cut it to hell trying to make it an action flick. After the first 20 minutes I had that deja vu feeling like I was watching the theatrical version of Kingdom of Heaven again. Why does this happen to Ridley Scott epics? I hope I'm right and theres a directors cut out there that will fill in more of the story and characters. I didn't feel any emotion at all for these characters (some of whom I couldn't get past the actors playing them). I'll be the first to tell you I don't know much about the Exodus story, but I also will say, I didn't get any more out of it from this movie. I'm so tired of CGI taking front stage before good writing in these kinds of movies, you can still have your action, but can we please concentrate and story and dialogue? Overall, I don't think I could recommend this version to anyone.

picked up Ben Hur/Ten Commandments combo bluray for $7.99. It's been a long time since I've seen either. Looking forward to watching them with the kids.

Objectively, I think II is the best. But I enjoyed IV the most, because whales.

Definitely II, followed by IV and last but not least VI. As far as NextGen though, First Contact is freakin' amazing!

thats a helluva grab for $8. Both strong films. Every easter movie that comes up will try, and eventually fail to even sniff the Ten Commandment's cinematic crotch. Brynner is bamf.

after watching Exodus: Gods & Kings, I'm hoping for something of quality. I was worried how it would hold up, but I guess anything with YB is a pretty damn good start.

what is the point of this mad max movie? is there really a fan base waiting for it? i know of the series, but I've never been interested in watching it. this looks like desert motocross. anyone under 35 will think its the California Love music video.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Here's hoping there is a big showing at the box office and it turns out as beautiful as it looks. It's a post apocalyptic chase movie. Done with mostly all real stunts. I suppose those of us that enjoy the first 3 realize the insanity/magic of these movies.
