The Thing is available for preorder 4k UHD. I believe it's also available on VUDU in 4k HDR for $10 today

I really need to get a 4K TV. I'd love to see all those practical effects in ultra high def.

That's an easy 4k pre-order.

If this really is the end, thanks for the memories Clint.

I really wish Dark Tower was written in the 60s so Clint could have played Roland...
Amen. My dream is for the Dark Tower series to get the Game of Thrones treatment (without the shitty ending).

That said...
I remember being pissed at the end of book 7. Like, I got it, but it was still upsetting. That would be hard to translate to television.

I'm one of the few people who liked the ending of the Dark Tower series.

Oh, I like it now. Like pfidc though, it took time. I was a much younger guy when I read it.

Given there's one certain difference in the ending and the beginning I'm happy knowing it may end up different this time. And I'm ok not reading that.

It's also why I was ok with the move (but just ok). Infinite runs through time make the movie possible canon

Why does it have to be October? Hopefully theaters aren't shut down by then

Lol we've got No Time to Die double-delayed to October too, just wait for things to be shutdown again and the movie to be delayed a third time...

SAME. It looks like this one will be more a kid's movie, which is cool. Obviously the original appealed to kids (though I would argue the first is not a kids movie). Then you had the cartoon followed by GB 2 which is much more kid friendly. Ultimately it doesn't have to be better than either of the original films, which is good because that's impossible. All it has to do is be better than Answer the Call. Shouldn't be hard to do.

The only odd thing to me is there are youtube clips of the ghostbusters, and there were likely all sorts of witnesses to a giant marshmallow man walking around NYC, but somehow in this timeline the ghostbusters aren't world famous? Guess it's just nitpicky. I'll suspend that thought to watch and enjoy the movie for sure.

Being better than GB2 also shouldn't be that difficult.

In any event.. I have high hopes just because of who is involved. I don't like Ivan Reitman's kid would knowingly make a bad Ghostbusters movie.

I have a lot of nostalgia for GB2 so my bar might be a little higher than it should be. Also, I'm not a big Finn Wolfhard fan so his inclusion automatically handicaps this one.

I don't hate Ghostbusters 2... I remember seeing it in the theaters as a 6 year old ..and 6 year old me probably loved the hell out of that film. It was still Ghostbusters.

It has good bits and pieces...it's just kind of there though. It starts off at a huge disadvantage though just because the original is so so so good.

Hell yes to the Ghostbusters reboot. Damn shame we have to wait until Thanksgiving though.

I went and found my Das Boot DVD "extended edition" from the late 90s, wanting to rip it and put it on my Plex server. But the formatting stumps MakeMKV, and won't read properly, yet it plays just fine on the PS3 and VLC. So I went and ordered the Bluray. Can't wait to watch it again. So good.

Watched Signs with the kids over the weekend. Man do I love that movie. From the opening credits, the entire movie feels like a ride. I really could do without the wife storyline and go all in on the alien attack, but whatever, it still gets me choked up.
