Are we still concerned for the well-being of bees? Why or why not?

how do you (the specific you, not the royal you) differentiate between confidence and stubbornness?

Willingness to process and incorporate new information pertaining to the action. Even if you don't modify your approach the acknowledgement that alternatives exist and making at least a cursory evaluation of them keeps confidence from becoming stubbornness.

Yes. We are...

Unfortunately when the SAVE THE BEES!!!! movement came out, everyone focused on honey bees and their own homes. Makes sense, right? If we're looking to save the dogs, no one is thinking about dingos, right? They're thinking about their pets.

The problem isn't that honeybees are going away. Honeybees are at pretty much all time high levels and are more or less livestock at this point. The problem is native bees and native pollinators are dying off. Biodiversity n'at. We plant a ton of different flowers (we try to do flowers native to PA) to provide a food source for local pollinators, but much like climate change: an individual doing something is a drop in the bucket compared to the big boys. You've got companies clear cutting habitats, strip mines ruining ecosystems, pesticides killing native pollinators.

tl;dnr: honeybees aren't in danger, native bees are in danger, big corporations are more to blame than individuals (as per usual).

four lane road (two in each direction) and I’m pulling out of a parking lot, taking a right. cars in the left lane but no cars in the right lane so it’s good for me to pull out. as I’m pulling out a car then decides to change lanes, without using their blinker, and then has the gall to honk at me (they pull back to the left lane)

legally, who would be at fault if it ended up in a collision? if they used their blinker I would be more understanding but it’s such an annoying decision having to make regardless when you’re trying to make the right and you don’t know if a car in the other lane is gonna make a snap decision to change lanes

alright. The lack of blinker still irks me though. I feel like it’s a law in NC that you’re not allowed to use your blinker when changing lanes

The law here is to signal at least 100' in advance. Was the parking lot exit near an intersection with solid white lines?

If there was a crash, and you were in a state that gave a **** about “fault,” my guess is both drivers could be cited. One for failing to signal, the other for failing to yield. However, the other driver would need to confess to not signaling (assuming you don’t have a dash cam). So without proof of the lack of signal, you would likely be the only driver cited.

Yeah, if the law in Weenieland requires signaling to change lanes, or if the traffic driver was speeding or violating some other element of the vehiclulum codex, then it could be split liability. But you'd have to be able to establish those elements, factually.

I know an attorney who's pet peeve about turn signals in roundabouts is based on this distance language. He says since each turn off from the roundabout is less than the statutory distance then there is no requirement to use one when exiting.
