Yeah, I don't watch trailers either if it's something I want to see.

Your gfycat is broken.

As spotty as the show can be, I find it reassuring to know that better things are coming.

I have not seen any source material put out for the spin-off. It is going to be completely made up out of thin air, but set in the "same universe" as the original.

Yesterday I made it to the point in the comics where they are on the tv show. Kind of conflicted on whether I should keep reading or not.
I think next season is on a path to mimic the comics very closely. Some minor things will change, for instance they swapped genders for the leader of Alexandria, but the plot was still the same. If you want to have a sense of surprise especially how some here think the two finales will go I would stop reading until after Season 7 because there is enough really good stuff coming.

Source of the post On a tangent, I don't understand people that want to know everything about a show before it airs. They read source material, production notes, casting changes, watch interviews, speculation. Why would folks want to go to all that work to purposely degrade the experience for themselves (and others)? Why not just let the material come to you? Save time/effort and actually enjoy the show as it was intended. It's a really alien behavior to me.
I said this (or something similar) at the old place.

I was told that I didn't have to watch any of it. I'm not just talking about spoilers, just the infinitesimal dissection of every high brow piece of drama on television - "Don Draper was wearing a green tie - what does that mean for Joan?" Ugh, just watch the show and come to your own conclusion(s)...

Depends on the show. Adaptations like Walking Dead or Game if Thrones has source material that was over a decade old when the shows first started. The differences between the books and shows drive a lot of conversation. Being current on the comics I have a good idea of what is coming and I love seeing seems ripped from the comics like when rick tore the guys throat out with his teeth.

Not too many things will surprise.me now but then something like Terminus comes around and its a huge payoff.

I get that, it's in line with Hockeynut's UTD comment. What I'm talking about is, for instance, Star Wars dweebs that go nuts over a leaked grainy camera phone image of a set or actor in costume. It seems to take the joy out of it, to me. Obviously people like doing it but I'm guessing they enjoy that process (being investigative, and FIRST!) more than they actually enjoy watching the final production.

Fear the Walking Dead looks awesome. I'm glad it's a completely different group of people in a completely different part of the country. Hopefully that means we don't get any forced cameos.

My hopes are that Walking Dead will remain a character-study on what happens to the human spirit in an apocalyptic world and Fear the Walking Dead will be an awesome gore-fest horror show.

This is not backed up by the trailer whatsoever.

One of the things I hope out of FOWD is that they do two or three episodes at the start zombie free. Just lay down a deep foundation.

Also I love the idea of massive walker herds in season 6. Really pumped for the coming seasons...

It's pretty clear at this point the threat in TWD are other people and not the walkers and how far you will go to survive. But it would be fun to see how this all started where it's a normal day and all of a sudden someone just comes up and starts trying to eat you.

I am of the school of thought that I would rather there be a slow burn on the arrival of walkers.

Just realized that since I'm not giving FWOD a shot until after the first season is in the can, this thread will be a no-go for me for TWD discussion. Boo.

i am as well, but only if the acting and writing stands on its own. which is a tough pull.

This also is true.

I prefer the Hitchcockian "fear of the unseen" to the slasher film Jason/Freddy type of horror, but the former is much harder to pull off.
