I'm having flashbacks here... @Morkle , was it you that had that person at a Pirates game that was eating a jar of miracle whip?
Yes, and it was sour cream. Straight up spoonfuls of Sour Cream. Was the second game of the opening series of like 2014/2015 against the Dodgers.

I literally just caught this on instagram before coming here. THis is ultimately disgusting and this guy should be removed from civilization.

That's a string bet, you have to stick with the 100.

**** tif is the guy who writes SQL reports and includes all tables when he’s only looking for a single value in a single table.

I have no issue with Pierre. Is he a little too excited about some things, like where player A played his mite league hockey or what his favorite type of skittles are? Yeah, probably.

But he does seem to love the game and seems to be genuinely interested in all things hockey that surround him.

I miss shmenguin. Hope he didn't off himself.
I miss him a lot--really thought he would be back for the fall. Someone PM Froggy on Facebook and ask him to send his brother back.
I wonder if there's any regret in this post

Personally I think that if Trout never makes the postseason again he’ll be remembered more as a novelty than an alltime great player

Jesus...I don't even know baseball that well and I know that's horrific...

I mean, he's a lay-up HOFer - at the very least - if he never plays a game in his 30's...

If I had superpowers, no question I would spend a day watching sports through Ween's eyes, it must be like looking into a kaleidoscope...

I can understand the take. Sure, Trout doesn't make the playoffs because his team is bad. But isn't part of a career managing your own outcomes? I'm certain if he wanted to be an impact player he could go to any number of perennial contenders. Instead he chooses to sit in the dugout of a MiLB team. That inaction and acceptance of his fate does diminish his status. Whether that falls all the way to novelty isn't for me to say; but it's clear he has no impact on the game at large which is a damming statement for a sure thing HOF lock.

This is, as mentioned elsewhere, more Ernie Banks than Dan Marino. In fact, it's actually very similar to Stirling Moss who chose to 'drive for his country' rather than for competitive teams. Once he signed with Ferrari he was maimed at a club race in the offseason. So Moss sold out and never got the payoff; at least Trout has his principle intact.

I don't know baseball and all, like I said...but I don't like players that just chase around the team that beats them, like the NBA. That's not rivalry, that's just building dream teams.

"Oh, Angels were beaten by the Yankees...sweet, I'll just join the Yankees and eviscerate the Angels..." that's dumb to me. So, I don't blame Trout for trying to make it work on the horse he rode in on...especially because he's not a "bad team scorer" like Olli Jokinen or some such...

Not sure an NBA to MLB comparison is fair. MLB probably has more stability than any other league in terms of which teams are good and which are not; likely the product of not having a salary cap. If there is a comparison to be made it would be to the 80s and early 90s NBA. Either play for the Pistons, Lakers, or Celtics or play for the Suns and cry about it for the rest of your life.

The comparison (on my end anyways) was made to highlight that out of all the major sports, MLB is probably the top of the list of where great players get passes for not winning championships (or even getting into the playoffs).

baseball is barely a team sport. unless you're a pitcher, you don't get bonus points for winning games
