Well, I wouldn't trust that with some of the wind storms that we've had here the last couple of years, personally.

It hasn’t moved a mm and it’s been through like seven hurricanes. There is nothing for the wind to grab

@Morkle: How's your ecobee working out for you?
So far so good. The only thing that I have to figure out how to change, is that it seems like it's a degree off or something. Otherwise, running great.

Yeah it runs with a +1/-1 degree variance. Though you can tweak it.

https://support.ecobee.com/hc/en-us/art ... thermostat

How to use Temperature Correction on your ecobee thermostat
Q: The thermostat is running beautifully, but the temperature sensor is reading high by a degree or two. Is there a way to tweak the sensor reading?

A: The thermostat sensor has a sensitivity variance of +/- 1F. If the thermostat reading needs adjusting for any reason, there's a Temperature Correction function which will permanently correct the sensor reading by +/- 10F in both directions. The chain of command to access this offset is as follows:

Smart/EMS - MORE > SETTINGS > INSTALLATION SETTINGS > THRESHOLDS > TEMP CORRECTION

Smart/EMS Si - MENU > SETTINGS > INSTALLATION SETTINGS > THRESHOLDS > TEMP CORRECTION

ecobee SmartThermostat with voice control/ecobee4/ecobee3 lite/ecobee3 - MAIN MENU > SETTINGS > INSTALLATION SETTINGS > THRESHOLDS > TEMPERATURE CORRECTION

Ahhh, okay. I thought he meant it was turning on 1 degree too late or something.

Does anybody have any positive/negative experience with iWave air purifier technology?

https://www.iwaveair.com/

I am thinking about getting it installed in our new house, so any advice will be very appreciated!

Just re-caulked the tub. I **** hate doing that. I follow all the steps, take the necessary precautions, use tape, all that good stuff and it still ends up looking like ****. As long as it keeps the water out I don't really care but I have a lot of appreciate for folks who can make this stuff look nice.

Tape is really the key, IMO. Even the fancy caulk tips aren’t exactly clean for most DIYers. Tape it up and remove it before it sets.

Everything I've read/watched said not to do that since it shouldn't be exposed to any water until it sets.

I know using a little Windex has worked in the past, but outside of using tape, the other key is to make sure that you're not applying too much caulk, which creates an even bigger mess.

Practice makes perfect and resist the urge to touch it after application. Cutting the tip at an angle also helps.

Well see that's where I run into issues. My stupid 1950s bathtub has too big of a gap between the pink tub and the green tile on the wall. So I stuff it with backer rod but it still takes a stupid amount of caulk to fill it.

Caulking is all about getting the angle and speed in which you move perfected. All the other tricks and tips aren’t need if you can get that down.

It’s just like drywalling. Some people can do it and some people can’t.

For real. I suck at mudding drywall but can caulk the length of a door frame in one motion.
