freaking took me 40 years to spend 200 bucks on a power washer. it's more fun than should be allowable at that price point
Yuuuup. I did about 700 feet of fence line and a bunch of patio furniture yesterday. It’s just so damn satisfying

Anyone buy a washer and dryer lately?
Since you jabronis were of no help, we looked at the consumer report best model for 2021 and bought them
Which were...?

Let me know how you like them. That detergent tray design is what I'm trying to avoid, as it leads to mold in the tray chamber.

As opposed to what? Dumping detergent right into the drum?

No, some of the newer designs have you store larger quantities of detergent in a container where you pour from the top. The detergent is piped out into the basin from there. If you pull out your detergent tray, you'll probably notice a series of openings at the top. Water is used to flush the detergent into the basin, and that's where the issues all stem from. The tray just stays wet, even if you leave the tray and door open. It's more of an issue with fabric softener, but can still happen with detergent.

Ah I see what you are saying. We honestly have a rag on the washer that we wipe the water out of at the end of the last load. This has two detergent trays, one for an individual load and one that it will draw. The whole assembly comes out easy to clean as well

Yeah, I'm going to replace the outlet, but this isn't the first time it's tripped (just the first its been constant). It branches two different ways to the garage outlets and I've got a new GFCI, so my plan is:

Replace the outlet (if it still trips it's supply to the outlet)
Connect left branch (if it trips it's in one of those outlets or the branch wiring)
Connect right branch (if it trips it's in one of those outlets or branch wiring).

i've noticed some companies using "Crete" in their name. Is "Crete" just shorthand for concrete - is there some difference between what they do and regular concrete?

Anyone get an entry door replaced before? We have one where it's drafty in the winter, and it just looks like garbage. It's a 36" door, 80" tall, and has two sidelights. I'm interested in a door with sidelights that can vent. It'd be nice to not have to worry too much about having a storm door, but also still have a breeze option.

I saw one company, Thermatru, has something worth looking at. I can go see what they have available at YBC, but there are no certified installers in the area.

3'0' 80" is a standard size, so you won't have to worry about it being custom.

If you go that route, make sure you never use anything but calcium chloride on it in the winter, otherwise you'll regret it.

3rd company coming out for an estimate Wednesday evening. After that I guess will have to make the decision to just bite the bullet and get it done now or not.

About to get an estimate for fixing our front yard.

Before we bought our house, our entire front yard was filled with bushes and old trees. They ripped them out to sell the house, but left the front yard a plot of landmines to break and sprain your ankle.

Either want to re-sod, or fill it all in with dart and have them plant grass.

Man, if it’s a full lawn, you’d have to put a gun to my head to get me to plant seed. I’d be all over sod depending on the size of the lawn.
