I have it and used it for every interior door in my wife's old condo - worked beautifully.

That's pretty slick, I didn't know DeWalt made a door jig.

I have a Porter Cable door hinge kit, too, that was also terrific.

I just use a chisel for mortising hinges. Never lets me down.

I did, too, but the template makes it so much easier, faster, and cleaner.

When doing the hole on the door jamb for the deadbolt to go in to do you just use a forstner bit?

I haven't had to install a new hole for a deadbolt, but I would use the same hole saw in that kit if I were, if only because I don't have the correct size forstner bit. The hole saw really does make quick work of it.

this could be an ignorant but wouldnt a hole saw be ineffective because you couldnt get the plug out?

The hole saws have cutouts on them for you to get a screwdriver in to pop out the plug.

Huh? All interior and exterior doors that I know of at least have solid wood where the knob and lockset would go. Those bits will get through it just fine.

Yeah, hole saw or forstner both work great in that application. Hole saw will even work on hollow metal doors.

The plug is going to be stuck inside the hole saw bit, not the actual hole. The drill bit in the center will help keep it there. Unless you're asking something else?

Won't the end opposite the drill still be attached to the wood is what LITTs asking, I think. Unless you snap it off with a screw driver. In which case a forster bit seems cleaner. Idk

I typically use a spade bit for blind holes like that. Plus you don't have to worry about prying out the leftover piece for through holes

Ah, I see what he means now. Yes, in that case a forster seems more prudent. My bad.

Are appliances suffering a shortage right now? Chips maybe?

Was looking for the largest/tallest 33" wide stainless steel freezer on bottom w/ice maker fridge I could find at Lowes an there is only 1 in stock. The other 10 or so are sold out.

A year ago the shortage started I believe. I don't think they have gotten back in full swing since.

That's been ongoing for about a year. My neighbor was doing a kitchen remodel and had to wait 3 or 4 months for the specific refrigerator she wanted to be available.

Furniture is similar. I was looking for a recliner recently and the saleswoman said she couldn't get the model I liked until early 2022.

By a stroke of luck the one I'm interested in is the one in stock, but it's weird going to look at it knowing I won't be comparing it to anything.

Thanks gents.
