Haven't seen this week's but I'd agree that they've really hit the reunion show without feeling like a reunion show vibe.
Like the bit with Ro last week was incredible knowing their backstory.

I'm 4 or 5 episodes into the final season of Picard and loving it. Strange New Worlds is also out, so I'll be able to move right over to that once I finish this season.

S03, from start to finish, was outstanding.

Post-credits scene:
The return of Q. We had better be getting a spin-off out of this with Jack.

I thought the crossover episode between Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks was actually pretty darn good, although I'm someone who really likes Lower Decks, so that biases me. I thought the episode totally worked. The animated version of the SNW opening was a nice touch (complete with nacelle bug):

It was definitely a banger. Mariner and Boimler killed it, and Jack Quaid did a great job translating some of the silly physical mannerisms to live action.

I'm a little late, but I really like Strange New Worlds. It needed maybe one or two episodes to accomplish what Discovery never pulled off: make me care about the characters. Also I have a crush on Nurse Chapel, like any sane person would.

Yeah, the entire cast is terrific. Anson Mount is just so good in his role.

I didn't care at all for the musical episode, but I don't like musicals in any form. The rest of the season was quite good.

Just watched the episode - phenomenal, and one of the best of the entire series. And agreed - hers was the best performance, IMO.

Anson Mount
I am not a Trek fan, I'm just a tourist here. But.......................... did no one have a frank talk with this guy about this name?

OMG I just looked it up, he is Anson Mount IV. They had three previous tries to get it right.

You don't have to use your real name when you do acting. You can be literally any name you choose, so long as there isn't someone currently registered in the union with the same name (which is why we know him as "Michael J. Fox" and not "Michael Fox"). In fact, I think you have to submit more than one option when you register. The point is, it can be anything at all.

He chose to go with "Anson Mount"

That's a good name - nay, a great name - for a geographic feature that everyone within 10 miles of knows well, but no one outside has ever heard of. But he went with his actual given name..... which there certainly weren't going to be any conflicting registrations, were there. "Oh I'm sorry, sir. We already have an 'Anson Mount'. Please pick another name."

It's an odd name but is there something bad about it? (posted this before seeing tif's comment directly above)

It sounds like a joke name Greg Proops came up with for the News Report improv game on Whose Line.

For those of you who have seen it, is Discovery worth a watch? I recall early reviews being negative, but was just told it got better and that I should check it out.
