So, I plug the USB 3.0 into my PC and then the HDMI into that hub? Will there be any loss of quality?

Yeah, USB from the hub to your machine, and then HDMI cables from the hub to each monitor. From there, in Windows 10 Settings, go to System and then Display. Here you'll be able to select which monitor is #1 and which is #2, along with changing the resolution, scaling, extend the displays, etc. While I don't have the same hub as those, both listings say it should work with what you want to do. Before you buy anything, go to that location (Settings\System\Display) and validate what your current display resolution is. If it's higher than 2048x1152, then neither of those hubs will work for you. Personally, I'd give that first one a shot because it's a) cheaper, and b) supports higher resolutions. You should not notice any degradation in quality. So, I plug the USB 3.0 into my PC and then the HDMI into that hub? Will there be any loss of quality?
That said, are you using this for PC gaming? That would be a big question mark, and I would probably not go this route if that's your goal. I would then upgrade my GPU to something that had multiple HDMI ports.

Both screens run at 1920x1080, and yeah it is a gaming rig. Not sure I want to upgrade the GPU just for more ports, either - it ain't that old.

What if I keep my current screen on the HDMI port, and buy an HDMI to DP cable for the second screen?

You can give that a try. I've never used that type of cable, so I'm unfamiliar. Should be a relatively inexpensive test, too. What if I keep my current screen on the HDMI port, and buy an HDMI to DP cable for the second screen?

I'll let you know how it goes. Should have it on Sunday.

I actually have a DP to HDMI converter for my work PC. It works well, made by VisionTek. It's not a gaming PC, obviously, but works for what I need it for.

I don't plan on gaming across both screens, so as long as my main stays the same, I'm happy.

Cable worked a treat! Plugged it in and Win10 instantly threw it up as an extended display.

Noice, thanks.

Glad I checked the next page, could not for the life of me believe that he would end up with that hub instead of a simple DP to HDMI cable.

Yeah, I honestly forgot that the cables even existed. So used to using hubs because of the added benefits.

I thought Windows 10 was going to be the last numbered version of Windows?

I thought the same, but there's still time. With this UX change, I expect them to go all in on the Mac route and call it Windows Sun Valley or something.I thought Windows 10 was going to be the last numbered version of Windows?

Probably just a creature of habit, but I have never cared for the Mac OS...the look or operation of it...
I also liked Windows 98SE more than anything...

Any suggestions for two Macbook pro (2020) compatible monitors that can be daisy chained? I need to present two options: 1080 and a full 4k.

At least it's not until Q4 2025, so there's some time.
