Colored lights are fine, imo. It's when you start mixing them with all white that you lose me.

Colored Christmas lights are tacky.
You are a terrible person.
That is an odd opinion.

We had a variation on these outside (big bulbs) and inside on the Christmas tree (smaller bulbs):

They were hot to the touch.

An all-white light ensemble is boring af.

I agree with dodint. Go with one or the other. That said, we have 600 LED colored lights on our tree and it looks fantastic.

I'm fine with either colored or white christmas lights, but don't mix and match....use one or the other.

We did the roof lines with white and the porch posts alternating red and green. I think it looks great.

I think that works since it stays within the Xmas color motif.

This.

The real problem is when people put up artificial Christmas trees.

I swore I'd never get a fake tree but did so back in 2011. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Is it prelit with white lights and you add colored lights to it as well?

Not pre lit. I alternate white and colored lights every year. This year is white.

I had a LED prelit tree with many controllable colors and features. It was pretty cool until the lights broke after 2 years. We used them with broken strands one year. Then last year I spent like 5 hours removing all of the light strands (all but like 2 still work so I use them elsewhere) and another 5 relighting it with 1600 colored LED lights. My forearms looked like I lost a fight with a raccoon but the tree looks great, and it went up with minimal effort this year.

Right around January 1 I'm reminded why I love having a fake tree.

A guy I used to work with had massive closets and used rolling stands to store his artificial trees each year. Put a bag on it, zip it up, and roll it into the closet for next year. Life goals. 😂

My mom does this and stores it in her basement storage room. One year the storage room was too messy so she left it out in the middle of the basement. As soon as I got to the bottom of the steps, I damn near **** myself when i saw a 6 foot figure out of the corner of my eye. Every single time for like the 3 months it was there

My understanding is that Christmas tree farms are actually quite sustainable. In fact, they are more sustainable than fake, plastic trees.

It takes me about 5 minutes to get the tree to the curb and another 10 to vacuum up the needles
