rare wisdom from chuck in his advanced age.
and jordan would have done the same, btw. whatever the thing is that you have to do to win, that's what he would have done.
pro sports are in a weird place. every one of them has glaring fundamental problems.

What makes the NBA's problem so unique is that more so than any other sport, it REQUIRES at least one generational talent to have a prayer of sniffing the Finals. What the Islanders are doing (with a roster of names that many casual fans have never heard of) would just never happen in the NBA.
If you are a fan of a team like the Trailblazers or Hornets, you are pretty much resigned to the fact that your team will never win a championship.

On another note, the Sixers are one point favorites in Atlanta tonight. Tempting to bet on the Sixers...with Embiid playing I just don't see the Hawks and Trae Young going to be able to keep pace. Also, I'm all about hedging bets.

eh. Slight disagreement. 2004 Pistons pulled it off but that was a while agoWhat makes the NBA's problem so unique is that more so than any other sport, it REQUIRES at least one generational talent to have a prayer of sniffing the Finals. also Blazers and Hornets have a chance but it’s a tough window to first find and then win in. The only teams that are in the playoffs right now that are super teams are the Clippers and Nets. Everyone else is homegrown talent which is nice

What a performance. Almost 35 year old Jeff Green was no slouch either.

Kawhi out for at least game 5 and probably more and Chris Paul in COVID protocol. Injuries have been ruining these playoffs

no. Beating the Hawks isn't much if an accomplishment. They might make the Finals but the Jazz or Suns would pummel them with Embiid playing hurt

The stars are aligning perfectly for them. The stupid Jazz were one of the healthiest teams left.Stupid 76ers are going to win it all
Amazing they are going to possibly win with Ben Simmons being a literal black hole offensively and Embiid clearly playing on a bum knee.
They need to win now because I don't think Embiid's career is going to last long.

If his toe hadn't been on the line, that would have went down as a Top 5 shot in NBA history. Still will be remembered if they win.
