This is an interesting study on gun violence from Rand. Looks at hospitalizations per 100k. Haven't really digested it yet, but I don't recall ever seeing this kind of data aggregated before.

Took my wife out to get a milkshake and four different fast food places we tried to go were all closed or not taking orders due to lack of employees.

On a Saturday night. Unreal.

I’m not following the political side here. It’s because biden made more people welfare queens so they don’t want to work anymore?

Starbucks was drive thru only off of 79 in Wexford at 5 on a Saturday.

The bar next to it was jam packed.

I worked late on Tuesday and all 3 fastfood joints I stopped at between Larryville and Bellevue were closed at 11 with signs that said "Closed at 10 pm due to staffing"

Visited with my parents, siblings, and their spouses for the first time since December 2019. It was a great time, obviously.

The family business is ridiculously busy to the point they’ve added a shift on Saturday (outside of December for Christmas orders) for the first time since we were a retail bakery in downtown Charleston (tourist area). Absolutely insane. But they have plenty of staff - they pay at least $15 an hour.

It will be interesting to see how this employment shortage goes when the unemployment checks are shut off here next month (Our governor is pulling the plug on the COVID expanded federal unemployment compensation on June 30). Because unlike my family’s business, most fast food joints in town were struggling pre-COVID to get enough help. I wonder who gets blamed late summer when shortages are still happening?

Well...THAT one is a weird post in the PDT.

Gates is in favor of things like curing malaria and people taking vaccines, but he’s more of an alt right boogie man than a lefty icon.

Just another billionaire who wants to stay competitive with the others, which throttles his usefulness.

The Epstein connection is weird, so like, gates started Hanging with him after he was in jail for hiring child prostittues?

According to the article, she learned of it in 2019:

According to the documents reviewed by the Journal, Ms. Gates and her advisers held a number of calls in October 2019 when the New York Times reported that Mr. Gates had met with Mr. Epstein on numerous occasions. Mr. Gates once stayed late into the night at Mr. Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse, the Times reported.
