Love that movie...
It's my favorite (and incredibly underrated) of the non-Sandler SNL movies of the 90s.

Shmengy...... in the last month you have come in here hot saying Up is a bad movie, and Steve Martin isn't funny.

Trust us. This is a 'you' problem.
Co-signed.
I mean, there's He's not my style and then there's 'brain damaged." Anytime somebody posts a take saying "objectively" is also full of ****.
got me. i literally think everyone was brain damaged. i'm in no way saying "he's not my style".

i've used the word "subjective" today, but not "objectively". so yay me.

...but anyway. that SNL thing from 4 or 5 years ago where they had all the homages to old bits. most of it...."IT WAS NOT MY STYLE". like why was that gilda radner rosanna banana or whatever it was...why was that a thing? where were the jokes? i still don't get the king tut thing either.
Humor has changed over the last 40+ years?

going with Generic THOT #12 is just very unimpressive for the richest man in the world.

This video of the Iron Dome in Israel is unreal.

Awesomeness.

This movie was also proof of life for Tiffany-Amber Theissen.

he's not human anymore. can you even imagine a reality where you wake up and can literally do whatever you want every day, and the concept of money doesn't even exist? i'm not saying it means he just gets high and parties every day, but the fact is that out of 3 billion humans and trillions of other organisms...he's won the game. it's impossible to guess what that feels like and what you'll turn into when that happens.

My CEO is a fairly influential dude in the US landscape. And I don't picture him doing this.

Shad's people doin' work in the Gulf:
A United States Coast Guard ship fired about 30 warning shots after 13 vessels from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) came close to it and other American Navy vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the Pentagon said on Monday.

This is the third encounter between the US and Iranian vessels in the past month and the second time the US has had to fire warning shots because of what they said was unsafe behaviour by Iranian vessels in the region, after a relative lull in such interactions over the past year.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the warning shots were fired after the Iranian fast boats came as close as 137 metres (450 feet) of six US military vessels, including the USS Monterey, that were escorting the guided-missile submarine Georgia.

The US Coast Guard cutter Maui fired the warning shots from a 0.50-calibre machinegun before the Iranian vessels left, Kirby said.

Kirby said the first round was fired when the Iranian boats got to within 300 yards (274 metres) of the US ships, and the second when they got within 150 yards (137 metres).

It's pretty neat that our JV naval force has more substantial blue water capability than any potential adversary's actual navy. And it's not even intended as a blue water force.

IIRC, one of the proposed ships to serve as the basis for the Navy's new frigates through the FFG(X) program was the Coast Guard's Legend-class National Security Cutter. It didn't win the competition (which was won by the FREMM multipurpose frigate design from Fincantieri Marinette Marine), but it says something that the CG operates ships that would be frigates in most navies.

Popped on Facebook last night for the first time since lunch, and three of the first four posts were about people complaining about runs on gas stations. On my way to work this morning, gas prices were up 30-50 cents from a day or two ago. Just great.

Meh, if I’ve learned anything about rich people or big companies it is that they will do whatever makes them more money. They may try to give some reasoning but after a week they’ll pretty much just shrug and tell people to either quit or stop using their product.

Simply put, they don’t care about right or wrong. Only what gives them more power and money.

I loaded up on gas this AM because it was still 3.09. I have a friend in Virginia who's said they're already seeing places with gas shortages.

It is insane how fragile our infrastructure is.

No one wants paid a shitty wage. Companies are now starting to adjust.
I think these chain and larger corps like Walmart, Target, etc can/should do this.

I'm more worried about the family owned/smaller businesses not able to keep up. Like we discussed a few days ago, I think we are going to see a large calibration post pandemic of smaller businesses, and especially restaurants out there.

I thought people were joking about stations being out of gas around here.

Was out this morning and all three Circle K's near me had signs up saying they were out. The 76 only had Mid and Premium.
