Don't let a bike lane hit your ass on the way out, Peduto.

Wow. I voted for Gainey but definitely didn’t expect him to win.

Going to be fun to see all the people who hated Peduto for the bike lanes (or whatever) respond to this gainey dude.

The pandemic is over. Why would pandemic unemployment continue?

Yup. Absolutely nothing unreasonable there. There are plenty of jobs available out there, and at some point you've got to cut the cord.

There were a good amount of posters on reddit that were saying the same. That it was a protest vote, or just a vote for someone different. Appears enough people felt this way lol.

So what does the unemployment look like after they cut funding in those 21 states, has there been anything said yet or is it still too early?

I am really curious how this all works out when people don't want to work for 8-12 an hour.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, it looks like thanks to the Pittsburgh area, the governor's powers will now be limited (ballot questions 1 and 2).

Was pleasantly surprised last night to see that Peduto got ousted. Excellent. My enduring memory will be of him rolling out the red carpet for protestors/rioters and they quickly turned on him anyway. Cuck.

Such a knee jerk reaction to a once in a hundred year occurrence.

That would be my question as well. When I was in high school, my dad got laid off from his tech job. He was out of work for at least 6 months, maybe a year, and was collecting unemployment, basically as the bridge to getting his next job. At that time, he was also using resources that I believe the government provided in his search for a new job (this was pre-internet days). I’m not sure that taking a minimum wage job would have been a good option, as it probably would have limited opportunities for the job he wanted/needed.

NY State investigation into Trumps now a criminal matter:
New York Attorney General Letitia James's investigation into the Trump Organization is now considered a criminal matter, James's office said Tuesday night, noting that officials with the former president's company were recently apprised of the development.

"We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the company is no longer purely civil in nature," said Fabien Levy, a spokesperson for the attorney general's office. "We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA. We have no additional comment at this time."

Their rationale (seemingly) is that Wolf made decisions without consulting with the house and senate GOP. What exactly would that have looked like if he tried? I'm all for bi-partisanship, but when you pretty much have one party who answers the question of "what should we do?" with "well, how bout you go f*ck yourself?" what choice do you have as a governor?
