Juneteenth is a stupid name. That's pretty much where my criticism of it ends. But it's not for me so what do I care. I had never even heard of it until I started working in downtown Pittsburgh and there were fliers in my building this time of year. And I did my undergrad thesis on slavery.

I don’t see many employers closing for the day though. It’ll be much like Columbus, MLK, or President’s day. We don’t close for any of those. Many service industry jobs close for Christmas and thanksgiving and that’s about it. Maybe limited hours for other holidays.

My workplace is a bit nutty today, particularly for the admin folks. If Biden signs the Juneteenth law today we don't have to work tomorrow. Probably. Maybe. Nobody knows, but everybody is asking. The admin people are currently out on a ledge.
