the My Pillow guy turning into the most vocal corporate supporter of Trump and Republicanism is still one of the weirdest things in the last 30 years

That didn’t take long
The board recently voted to change the mascot image from a Native American to something else which hasn’t been decided upon yet. They also dropped the “red” from the “red raiders” mascot name.
‘Red Raiders’ returns, Bellefonte School Board reverses decision on Native American imagery
https://www.wearecentralpa.com/news/loc ... n-imagery/
Since the 1930s, the Bellefonte Area School District has held the nickname “Red Raiders” along with the logo of a Native American in headdress.
In April of 2021, discussions surrounding historical accuracy and respect for Native American culture led to the school board voting to retire the nickname and logo. Now, that has all changed.
Nine months later, the topic was revisited and the school board rescinded their decision. The Bellefonte Area School District is once again the “Red Raiders” and they won’t continue actively removing Native American imagery from their halls.

There was a group of four school board members that ran on the platform of two things in November:
-Returning the red raider mascot
-Barring crt from ever being taught at the school district (it never was, but people don’t know that…)
Seems the two almost go hand in hand.
They won by a landslide, and unlike democrats, these people actually do the things they say they’ll do when they get into office.

I think it should be noted that "Trump" and "republicanism" are not the same thing, or analogous. And that's the main problem. The MyPillow guy is squarely the former.

There are extremists and centrists in both parties. While the bulk of both parties are more center than extreme, it seems that the GOP cater to the extremist or face exile while the Dems are very (overly?) focused on not losing the centrists nor burning too many bridges to the centrists on the other side.I think it should be noted that "Trump" and "republicanism" are not the same thing, or analogous. And that's the main problem. The MyPillow guy is squarely the former.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes charged with seditious conspiracy in Jan. 6
When is the last time someone was charged with sedition?
Stewart Rhodes — founder and leader of the extremist group Oath Keepers, whose members are accused of being key players in the Jan. 6 attack on Congress — has been indicted and arrested, officials said Thursday.
The 56-year-old, who was at the Capitol that day but has said he did not enter the building, is the most high-profile person charged in the investigation so far. He is charged with seditious conspiracy, along with 10 other Oath Keepers members or associates, officials said.
Most of those individuals were previously arrested, but one, 63-year old Edward Vallejo of Phoenix, Arizona, is also facing charges as part of the case against the Oath Keepers for the first time. Officials said Rhodes was arrested this morning in Little Elm, Texas, and Vallejo was taken into custody in Phoenix.
Some defendants also admitted to stashing guns in a nearby Arlington, Va., hotel for possible use by what they called a “Quick Reaction Force.”
Trump isn't Trumping hard enough for the Oath Keepers.“All of the people that are being unlawfully detained or denied bail, they’re being abandoned by Trump. He’s done nothing for them. You know, he could donate money, he hasn’t even done that. He didn’t pardon anybody while he was still in office, and then when he left, he hasn’t raised money,” Rhodes said. “... I think he has abandoned his base, because he has abandoned the people who were there to protect his other supporters. So yes, I do feel abandoned by him.”

this sucks
edit: saw an interesting caveat
In response to concerns about a shortage of health-care workers, the administration said the secretary of health and human services has given facilities some flexibility to meet the new requirements, including an additional 60 days to get employees fully vaccinated. The agency also said it will hold off on any enforcement for action, as long as 90 percent of the workforce is vaccinated and the facility has a plan to immunize its remaining workers.

It doesn't block employers from mandating vaccines though right? I'd imagine a lot of them already put in the time and effort to put the mandate in place and won't back down now. Or at least I hope they won't.

No, this just blocks Biden from making them mandate vaccines. It doesn't block employers from mandating vaccines though right? I'd imagine a lot of them already put in the time and effort to put the mandate in place and won't back down now. Or at least I hope they won't.

I think the SCOTUS ruling is sort of a moot point for a lot of companies, as their deadlines for vaxxing have already come and gone. Part of my onboarding at my new job was to upload vax proof, so it was a condition precedent for me 4 months ago.
