Jesus...I’m sure there’s some insincere but plausible thing in this article, but that tweet. Aren’t we the most incarcerated country on earth? And we need more? America must be a real hellscape.

It's funny how unemployment and crime go hand in hand.

didn't Beijing just get an olympics? why are they getting two olympics in 14 years?

and honestly I wouldn't be upset with a boycott of it. I'm tired of leagues like the NBA pussyfooting around the China situation. They're committing atrocities and the world needs to know about it

Let China take the Olympics. It leans more towards tanking an economy than helping it

I highly doubt Beijing will be as negatively affected as Rio. They need to not boycott it, but give it to someone else BECAUSE they are exterminating people. Whining about it isn't going to do anything. It's obvious the chinese govt does not give a ****.

ehhh a lot of Olympic sports aren't really money makers like NFL and NBA players. These guys and girls that curl, wrestle, ski, whatever.. the Olympics is the pinnacle of their careers really. Boycotting kinda sucks

I'm going to withhold my judgement on a potential Olympic boycott until shmenguin tells us if this boycott is based on good faith, righteous principals or not

You have my permission to make whatever point you need to make and thank you for asking.

...China is a hellscape run by monsters. There’s no controversy here. Be as punitive as you like.

Norwegian Cruiseline is going to resume US cruises in June and they will require all staff and guests to be vaccinated.
And the Gov of Florida is vowing to do everything he can to prevent enforcement of that; he's already signed an executive order banning enforcement of business-level vax prerequisites. How that works when the ship reaches international waters, is anybody's guess. Will people who don't comply be quarantined to their staterooms? That'll be a hoot.

I want a vaccine passport to get around having to take a covid test pre-arrival, so I'm all for it. As for it being a requirement to fly? That's probably too far.
It would probably be more helpful and impactful to be vaccinated prior to getting into an aluminum can for 5 hours than being vaxxed while at the beach.

I bet many businesses, especially concert venues and sporting arenas, don't want to be associated with superspreader events and thus are going to require vaccination cards. I have 0 problem with that too
The Texas Rangers would perhaps like to have a word about that whole concept.

It’s amazing that the cruise industry is going to survive this. The horror stories of people on the ships is all the validation I need to never go near one

As would the entire SEC and their "seating limits".

Biden says the government is not going to force anyone to carry COVID vaccine passports.

"As for it being a requirement to fly? Probably too far" seems to imply you don't think it should be necessary to fly, unless both tif and I misinterpret what you mean.
