Trump, after the verdict today, said something along the lines of "I think this decision will bring the country together."

Biden cabal talk is awful quiet when the system actually plays out how it’s designed to. What do those chuckle-heads say about the verdict? Did sleepy Joe’s absolute control falter for just a moment.

I keep seeing things saying, but they left it to states or congress to pass a law saying they can be disqualified. Isn't there something already out there saying this? Is that anything? @Shyster

The decision says that for federal elections, disqualification can only come from a law passed by Congress. The decision notes that the only current statute remaining out of the Enforcement Act of 1870 would be 18 U.S.C. § 2383, which makes it a federal crime to "engage[] in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or give[] aid or comfort thereto" and says that someone who does "shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States." Trump would either need to be disqualified under that statute or under some other statute passed by Congress (which, given Republican control of the House, ain't happening).

The decision does say that states may enforce Section 3 as to their own state elections. So Colorado is free to keep Trump off the ballot in the event Trump runs for Governor of Colorado or any other elected position in Colorado. But states cannot enforce Section 3 as to elections for federal office.

Correct. As brilliant as he can be he seems most happy when he’s miserable. He also is a huge a-hole from what I read in the ESPN book from a decade ago.

He's an egomaniac and has been fired from every job he's had.

Too bad because he's entertaining if nothing else.

It would be easier if GOP selected Haley as their candidate...

It’d also be easier if Biden stepped aside and the DNC put forth a candidate that actually appealed to anyone.

I just don't know who that candidate is that polls well, that can beat Trump. I don't think the DNC or anyone on that side has really done a good job even trying to push themselves forward.

Even Kamala, she's practically non-existent, and she polled horribly to begin with.

An anti-vaccine, conspiracy psycho? No thanks.

I'd personally want someone who's closer to down the middle, but either side has to go extremes to be the "next one."

If it were just the anti-vax thing, that'd be one thing, but Wi-fi causing cancer (and/or "leaky brain"???), chemicals in the water turning the frickin frogs gay kids transgender, AIDS isn't caused by HIV, and of course... the media is out to get him because they won't go along with his conspiracy theories, and he's being "censored".

Beyond that, yeah... great guy.

Klobuchar - in 2020 - would've made for a sub-optimal running mate experience.

The Biden camp strongly preferred having a woman of color on the ticket, and Klobuchar openly advised the campaign to that end herself when she proactively withdrew her name from the pool ("you can't fire me, I quit"). She was also famously quite awfully regarded among non-white voters, usually polling and in single digits and translating those numbers into poor performances in elections among more diverse voting populations (her home county is only 10% non-white). Similarly, while a law enforcement background was seen as helpful, what would probably not have been so helpful was having a person from the same law enforcement establishment that had just murdered George Floyd propping up a ticket that particular autumn.
Even Kamala, she's practically non-existent, and she polled horribly to begin with.
Much less so now, but in 2020 she was a license to print money. For as oddly incompetent as her campaign was, other candidates had fundraising spikes if their emails so much as mentioned her in their re line (even if it was negative); Klobuchar in particular had her best fundraising week ever when she shared the 'bussing' clip of Harris going after Biden at the one debate. ("Give me money, because this other candidate is doing what I wouldn't do") So while she wasn't very good at the top of the ticket, she was regarded as the best bet for the #2.

If there were any lingering questions about RFKjr, I would hope that poxy Super Bowl commercial - namely his response to it - would put paid to that curiosity.

lol. I have gotten a dozen calls and texts from my dad over the last week due to wireless issues on his laptop. Spent a ton of time troubleshooting to no avail, bought a USB wireless card to fix it (no more disconnects, but now doesn’t remember the auto connect even though I’ve cleaned up the cached connections), and have gone as far as to installing W11 on his laptop. Now his wireless is rock solid but it blue screens every day. My last ditch effort was a new nvidia driver since his is over 2 years old. He’s already convinced he needs to buy a new laptop, which is just stupid.
