The next week is going to be awesome. A lot of sunshine, slowly warming temps through the weekend, topping out in the low to mid 60s throughout much of next week.

I took next Friday off to have a 4-day weekend. Planned to get two more rounds of golf in. Turns out the rain is coming in on Friday, about a half-inch. *sadtrombone*

Veterans Day is Thursday so I just took the Friday to connect four.

I did golf today. Wore three layers but took one off at the warm-up range. Felt great.

I keep the thermostat at 70 during the cold season. So yes.

With the clocks going back, yesterday morning will be the latest sunrise of the year.

The earliest sunset, for most of us, will come around December 8. The days will continue to get a tiny bit shorter after that, but after 12/8, sunsets will continue to get later until June.

Forgot how much this time of year sucks until the sun was heading down at 5 on Sunday. As much as I hate turning back the clocks in Pittsburgh, our friend in Hovik, Norway has the joy of a 3:28 PM sunset today. 7 hours of sunlight. Keeps trending downwards to 3:55 of daylight with a 10:15 AM sunrise and a 2:10 PM sunset. I definitely couldn’t deal with that **** and I don’t think I’d like the 21:27 of daylight (2:32 AM sunrise, 11:59 PM sunset) in the summer any better.

I may just hit TopGolf on Friday AM just to get some swings in. Was going to go tonight, but I have a few things to do after work and I'm not sure if I'm up for waiting 2 hrs for a bay again.

The forecast has improved. A bunch of rain coming in Thursday night, but I plan to play both Thursday and Friday if the current forecast holds.
I thought about going back up to Birdsfoot one of the days.

If you see morons sharing 15 day models showing a snowstorm hitting us the day before Thanksgiving, just ignore them. This is Exhibit A why anything past a week is a total crapshoot, outside of macro climate patterns. It shows six or seven consecutive model runs.

I have no idea what anything in that tweet means. Does that mean it's going to snow?

That's not a forecast. When there is a large high pressure system over Greenland, it forces the cold Arctic air down into the lower 48. Too early to say where exactly and how cold, but that's one key ingredient in snowstorms. If you don't have a block, more difficult for it to get cold enough for winter weather.

Regardless of what the potential storm does next week, looking like it will indeed usher in a strong blast of Arctic air just in time for Thanksgiving
