Massive El Niño growing, say models. Could bring an end to California drought but also cause catastrophic flooding

We have had several tornadoes touchdown here recently. One, just on Thursday, demolished an elementary school up in upper Berks County.

I was going to say that we were finally not too tired to go to the pool. However the skies were grey and it was cold enough to wear a thick hoodie. More November than July.

But happily that meant we could go to the indoor pool that has a jacuzzi.

And we pay less rent here.

This summer has sucked for grass mowing. Gets so nice and thick but it has so rarely been dry- and not when I don't have something else going on.

I am going to have to attach a flag to my Cocker Spaniel's tail so I can find him when he goes out.

Not a complaint, more of a 'praise baby Jesus', but it has been raining pretty hard here since early am. The beaches were closed three times dues to lightning, and there was a strike so big near my house this afternoon that the thunder actually rattled picture frames on our wall. It's awesome. And...... I remembered to put my sprinklers on rain delay, which I typically forget.

We could use about a month of this, but it's forecast to be back up to the 90s with single-digit humidity by Thursday.

heat index around Pittsburgh is supposed to be in the triple digits today. I've seen it listed anywhere from 101 to 105.

Yeah this weather sucks. I don't want to be outside, it's not comfortable. It's oppressive with the heat index going up or above 100 and the humidity being so high.

I don't complain in the winter about being cold either, so I'm allowed to dodint when it's too hot lol.

Me too, as long as I can jump in a pool or have AC at some point.

I prefer this if I'm inside somewhere with A/C, or at the pool like blackjack, but I don't want to be outside in it for any extended period of time. Like I wouldn' want to go a pirate game and sit in this weather, or walk around the city.. I don't like when it's hot enough that I break a sweat walking down a block or two. No thanks.

Maybe it's just cause I'm a naturally warm person. The cold doesn't bother me at all, I can wear shorts/tshirt outside in the middle of winter and it not bother me. In the summer though... I sweat like a beast.

None here either. We have window units in our bedrooms though. Last night they couldn't get the temp below 75 but that's good enough.

Buying Central Air was the best thing I've done for our house. I used to hate dealing with no A/C.

Getting rid of the window units and doing Mini-splits has been great. So much quieter and cooler, plus electric bill has gone down quite a bit.
