Tom Brady still exists, their division is trash... So probably not. But would be nice.

According to my father in law, the Boston talk radio scene has already crowned them SB champs. But I'm guessing that's an annual thing.

I just looked at a preseason power ranking, I think there's a pretty clear top tier, especially in the AFC, and getting the top seed is going to be a pass to the AFC championship game.

Harrison is still a solid depth LB. If you manage his snaps, he can still have an impact, albeit not as large as it used to be.
Correct...as usual.

Doesn't he have to play this year and next or he owes millions?

Shazier is considered week to week due to a hamstring injury. Vince Williams and Dirty Red might be your week 1 starters at ILB.

I thought I read last year it was 19mm if he walked before last season, like 10 this year if he retires before this season, and maybe 5 or so if he retires and doesn't play 2018. My recollection could be wrong, of course.

I heard an interview where he talked about playing long enough so his kids will remember watching him play, but now he wants to remember playing with his kids.
I really have doubts about him playing next year.

I don't care how good Lev Bell and Antonio Brown are, if Ben retires, this team is F'ed.

16.8 if he retires right now. He has two years left after this season, so assuming its 17mm divided by 3, he'd owe around 11 if he retires after this year and 5.5 or so if he retires before his last year. Steelers could always walk away from it I suppose. Also assumes he doesn't have a clause prohibiting this kind of payback.

He can afford it.
Roethlisberger is the highest paid Steelers player in franchise history, having accumulated $159,517,882 over 13 seasons.

this kind of logic doesn't really add up to this gentleman. Aren't big ben's concussions basically a sunk cost at this point? He has had multiple concussions on the playing field and this gentleman recalls that he got a concussion during the infamous motorcycle accident, too. In other words, if he brain is going to be mush, the damage is done. If he want to continue to play for a few more years, it is not like his brain is going to be any mushier than it already is
