Armada. I read the whole thing and it was dumb, basically a Last Starfighter rip off.Interesting. I kinda sorta enjoyed the first one, but thought his writing was cringy as F. My brother in law let me borrow another book that he wrote after and I couldn't get past the first ten pages.

I read both last year. Never was really into King’s stuff but enjoyed Dark Tower and The StandFinished The Stand, loved it, that's a hell of a book. Looking forward to reading the updated one in the future. Part of me wants to go back and re-read the dark tower series again

I was curious so I looked it up. In addition to those two he was a wizard in The Eyes of the Dragon. He is also alluded to in Hearts in Atlantis and Gwendy's Button Box but the character uses a different name in those.Is Flagg in other King books besides stand and dark tower?

Old man's war by john scalziAnyone have any recommendations for good "Space Sci-Fi." It's the only thing my brother put on his list for Christmas. And I have no idea what he has already read. He's working for NASA so I imagine he's already read The Martian, which is the most recent one I have read. And everyone has read Starship Troopers.
This isn't really my area. Most interesting suggestion someone gave me was the RCN series by David Drake. Kind of a steampunk space version of the Aubrey and Maturin books by O'Brian. Might grab him the first couple of those.
