I finished Blood Meridian last night. Really warmed up to it the further I got. Spent a half hour after reading about the real life characters behind it.

Seth Rogens Yearbook is very funny.
One unbounded ocean of consciousness: Simple answers to the big questions in life by Tony Nader is one of the most interesting books I've ever read.
Loved the shadow and bones books

No, it just came out. It's in my queue!
I finished the Los Alamos history; very interesting if not a bit disjointed, as it used lots of diaries and letters from different people. Very chopped up, but fascinating to see a boarding school for kids with tuberculosis got turned into the main development site for the atomic bomb.
Next up (two at a time!) Devotion by Adam Makos and The Pigeon Tunnel by John Le Carre. Devotion is about two Naval aviator friends shot down in Korea. They are filming a movie version now down near Savannah @columbia. The Le Carre book is his memoir, published in 2016. He passed away in 2020, but has another book coming out later this year.

Did you read Helmet for my Pillow? It's his memoir that was used for The Pacific.

These are the forgeries of jealousy:
And never, since the middle summer's spring,
Met we on hill, in dale, forest or mead,
By paved fountain or by rushy brook,
Or in the beached margent of the sea,
To dance our ringlets to the whistling wind,
But with thy brawls thou hast disturb'd our sport.
Therefore the winds, piping to us in vain,
As in revenge, have suck'd up from the sea
Contagious fogs; which falling in the land
Have every pelting river made so proud
That they have overborne their continents:
The ox hath therefore stretch'd his yoke in vain,
The ploughman lost his sweat, and the green corn
Hath rotted ere his youth attain'd a beard;
The fold stands empty in the drowned field,
And crows are fatted with the murrion flock;
The nine men's morris is fill'd up with mud,
And the quaint mazes in the wanton green
For lack of tread are undistinguishable:
The human mortals want their winter here;
No night is now with hymn or carol blest:
Therefore the moon, the governess of floods,
Pale in her anger, washes all the air,
That rheumatic diseases do abound:
And thorough this distemperature we see
The seasons alter: hoary-headed frosts
Far in the fresh lap of the crimson rose,
And on old Hiems' thin and icy crown
An odorous chaplet of sweet summer buds
Is, as in mockery, set: the spring, the summer,
The childing autumn, angry winter, change
Their wonted liveries, and the mazed world,
By their increase, now knows not which is which:
And this same progeny of evils comes
From our debate, from our dissension;
We are their parents and original.

I'm taking a leadership program for the next three weeks at work. We're tasked with reading and analyzing a biography of a 'leader.' I have plenty of military-type stuff on my shelf, and stuff in the automotive sphere. Was thinking of taking the time to take a glimpse into a different subject area.
Any biographies of leaders that you liked and would recommend for this?

Outside of military and automotive, the only other biography I've read recently was that of Jack Webb, who created and starred in Dragnet. But I don't think I'd call the "Joe Friday" actor a leader.

I may just end up with On A Clear Day You Can See General Motors.
