More new Gojira....kinda has a Sepultura vibe. I dig it though. Also always meaning/purpose behind the songs they write.

I don't know why, but I immediately thought of this when I first started listening:

Anytime I see Howard Jones is doing a vocals on a track.. I click. His voice is incredible.

I've been listening to this over and over....and Howard Jones is 50 years old.. and his cleans are still the best in metal IMO. His scream is obviously great, but his clean vocals are some of the most powerful in music period... and always have been. Just perfect. His stuff with KSE stands on it's own, but even his Light the Torch stuff etc. (not counting his early BHBS music, but that's mostly just screaming/growling)

I'm reaching a bit on this because of the actual song, but this is still one of the best covers I've ever heard.

The new Gojira album dropped today. It's fantastic. They had already put out basically half the album prior to release, but there are some other songs that have more of that old school gojira feel. All in all it's a great progression for them IMO.

Gotta be honest, I'm not really feeling the new album.

It took me a couple listens but I am really digging it.

They have definitely transitioned from their death metal like roots(started that with Magma) but it still has that gojira feel to me.

Davidian is a banger of a song.

The Blackening was their MOP though, IMO.

Can't beat War Ensemble, though.

That riff at 1:44 is one of Slayer's most underrated riffs IMO.

My all-time favorite Slayer track, by a wide margin.
