I love my vibe. I want something similar. Don’t care what it’s called.

I'd also take a look at the Kia Soul, if you like hatchbacks. It's right around the same size as the Kona but offers more interior and cargo space, and it also offers a turbo option with slightly more horses than the Kona.

6 month old Mazda with <6000 mi on it is in the shop with a bad airbag that they didn’t have in stock. Since it is a safety issue though they gave a nice brand new loaner CX-5 .

Still…. Not real happy with my new car already being in the shop.
Car still in the shop, called Lemon Law attorney. PA law is that if it spends 30 consecutive days in the shop with a safety issue you are entitled to a new vehicle or what you paid less mileage. We'll see how this goes. Maybe they'll miraculously find an airbag.

I've considered them... in fact that car came out right around the time I bought the vibe. I test drove it and didn't like it, which has kept me away from even contemplating it recently, but that was 12-13 years ago. I'd imagine there's been serious changes to it since then.

The HRV has surprisingly great interior room... the engine just blows, and there aren't really any options to upgrade it.

Hyundai Velosters are really nice for what they are. Unless you're looking for a 5-door, then it's not going to work for you.

I test drove the Veloster against the Cooper and ultimately went with the MINI because the roof was a little higher.

2021 models are your last chance to get a manual transmission in the Soul.

I have the same engine in my Kia Forte5 hatch that the turbo Soul offers. I'm very fond of it. It's tuned more for plentiful torque than high horsepower, but 200 is nothing to sneeze at, especially for a relatively light car. Not sure why the basically the same engine in the Kona turbo offers like 10 fewer horsepower. Having grown accustomed to a car that offers more-than-usual power, I don't think I could go back to something slower.

IIRC, Hyundai has stopped selling all versions of the Veloster other than the top-of-the-line Veloster N. The N starts close to $30,000 and can run over $30k with options, which is VW GTI territory.

I figure I have maybe one more new internal-combustion car before I go electric. I'm not buying anything soon, but I'm thinking along the lines of a Golf R or Civic Type R for that future purchase. Given that I want a hatch with a manual transmission, there aren't many options available.

HR-V is a new model for 2023, so hopefully the engine has been upgraded. Sad that the current HR-V engine is the same that's in my 2012 Civic.

A lot of current Hondas look to me like they were just in a very minor front-end fender-bender that smashed out parts of the grille. I'm not overly fond of their current styling theme.

The Expedition is no longer a F-150?

Do they still make the Excursion? I think that was based on the F-250.

I hope demand isn't still nutso in a couple years when I'm looking for a truck. I'd hate to be going to dealers right now.
