Section 119, I paid $122.83 for each of them and I'm willing to take pretty much anything at this point.

It really was a truly impressive performance.
I've seen a lot of the big rock bands of that era (Def Leppard, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, etc) and these guys brought it harder than any of them.
Its hard to express how seriously awesome Slash is at the guitar. It just comes out live in a way you can't say about Kirk Hammet or Neal Schon.

I'm not even a really big GnR fan. I was there more for the novelty of seeing them. But they were such a great live rock band. The two instrumentals - the Godfather theme and Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here - were just so well performed.
The only cons were that the sound mix was inconsistent and the venue was too big. There were 35,000ish people there - shouldve been at PNC or maybe even Consol. I'd have paid more to see it at a more intimate place like Consol.

I hate the sound at most stadium shows.
That and I had won tickets to their Philly show (2nd of two nights) years ago. The first night Axl was late, etc. etc.
They ended up cancelling the second night and the rest of the tour.
I still have those tickets somewhere. Wonder if they'll let me in with those.

Might be the first time I've read 'intimate' and 'Consol' in the same sentence.

35,000 seems like a light crowd for GNR.
That's kind of intriguing.

For what it's worth, I was following this tour very closely because I was going to the show last night and I was worried about Axl's history of late starts. From what I read from reviews of previous shows, they've been on time for every show so far. They post the respective day-of-show schedules (soundcheck, dinner, opening act on, change-over, GnR on-stage) via their social media accounts the day of the show. For last night's show, their schedule said 8:45PM, and they were on stage at 8:45, maybe even a bit earlier. That's one of the main things holding me back from the Philly show.I'm not even a really big GnR fan. One of my biggest takeaways from the show last night was that it really seemed to be all about the music, and they seemed to absolutely to love it. IIRC, they opened with an absolutely blistering five-song run - It's So Easy, Brownstone, Chinese Democracy, Jungle and Double Talkin' Jive - before Axl welcomed the crowd. There were none of the between-song rants that used to bog down or break up the momentum of shows in previous tours. Even the band intros were relatively understated, which was perfectly fine. It was no-nonsense, no BS and the energy was pretty much non-stop.

So passed I had to miss this. Quarter ended close and working late.

Went to the show in Philly last night. I didn't get home until 2:30, and had to burn a day of PTO, but it was totally worth it. One of the best concerts I've been too.
I went with my brother-in-law and he was able to get us floor passes for no extra charge, so that definitely improved the experience.

Tuesday night is a crappy night for a concert like this. I imagine it would have sold out on Friday or Saturday35,000 seems like a light crowd for GNR.

Absolutely. I had an absolute blast at the show, but it would've been even better had it been a Friday or Saturday night and I wouldn't have had to worry about being up at 5:30 Wednesday AM (unfortunately, I couldn't afford to take Wed AM off work, either).Tuesday night is a crappy night for a concert like this. I'll say this...for a relatively smaller crowd, i thought the energy throughout was pretty great. It was a really festive atmosphere, everyone was cool and seemed to be there just to enjoy the bands. Lots of fun.

WMMR in Philly was slightly critical of the show at the Linc last night.
Said it was good, not great. Sound was super muddy on the sides of the stadium. Seemed like each band member was an island unto themselves with no real interaction.
Still, I would've like to see it.

If Billy Talent had opened for them in Pittsburgh (they are tonight in Toronto), I assuredly would have plunked down a couple hundred for tix.
