In terms of Passion vs. Results, Philly wins over Phoenix. A much higher percentage of people in Philly live and die by their pro sports teams than in Phoenix. It's what makes sports talk so great around here.
Right I don't get the impression that Phoenix fans are as invested. However, Philly does have a WS, Cup Final appearance and Super Bowl appearance in the last decade-ish.. And even NBA finals appearance if you go back a few more years. It could be a lot worse for them

Oakland.

Raiders can't even get the city to build a new stadium, so they are always being mentioned for relocation.

A's play in a lousy stadium with plumbing issues that back up releasing sewage into the dugouts, thus causing games to be rescheduled.

Warriors are rumored to be moving across the Bay due to lack of funding for a new Arena.

Still Cleveland

Without LeBron the Cavs have traditionally been a footnote. They'd sacrifice Bron Bron for a Browns playoff berth in a second.

Golden State is likely moving west across the Bay.

When Buffalo residents of any reputable degree turn of age, they move out of the city to New York, Philadelphia or Washington DC because there's nothing to do in Buffalo...so, by way of their constant exodus, Buffalo won't win out for me...

Philadelphia still belongs on the list...

Maybe I'm weird or something but.... apart from the lake effect snow, I really like Buffalo.

What would be more frustrating: To have sports teams that perennially suck butt, or to have teams that have periods of competitiveness but who never find championship glory?

The latter.

Last couple years has sucked as a Pirates fan; for example.

I could deal with the previous 20 because I knew what was coming.

That's kind of how I see it. So much less of a hassle when you're sports teams are the butt of national jokes. They even make comedy movies about how lame Cleveland sports are.

That is why I voted for Washington.

I would much rather be in the mix and losing playoff games or finals/championship games than endure unmitigated futility. I'd rather endure the pain of close but no cigar than live in apathy, because I like to feel things unlike you diet water drinkers.

passion vs results is why ATL shouldn'tve even been on the list. too many transplants here that won't give up their (or their father's) childhood teams to root for the home team except for college football.
