He is a jagoff but I'll give him credit for owning up to the mistake. Though, as seasoned a driver as he is, how does he make that mistake?

I was wondering right after he crashed Elliott how there could be a NASCAR brawl if everyone has to social distance.
Elliott' s pit crew went over to Busch's pit which was amusing, as they meekly were led back.

Yes, this racing has been great.

Another race finishes with a bone head Elliot crew decision, and KyBusch consoling him

Unless he didn’t have fuel to handle OT, there was zero reason to come in. He was extending his lead on each lap by a couple of tenths. Coming in for tires was not gonna make a difference for 2 laps in mid pack.

Moving noose talk here.

The Pull on Bubba's garage. Nascar says of 1684 garage stalls in the series, 11 have knots tied in the pull down and only Wallace's resembled/was a noose. They also confirm that it was not tied at the start of the October weekend, so it was tied that weekend. No other stall at Talladega was tied in a similar manner.

Bubba's statement from yesterday.

Why didn't NASCAR release that top photo yesterday with the FBI report?

Don't these sports pay PR people?

Why would they take out one of the few races every year that actually produces great racing?

Chicago and Kentucky have also lost their Cup dates.

Throwing crap at the wall.

NASCAR died February 2001 and when they decided they hated their fans.

Kyle Larson signed by Hendrick Motorsports to multiyear deal. No sponsors yet.

He sure learned his lesson. *phew*

EPSN often doesn't have good articles, but their 4 part series on 20th year anniversary of Dale Sr dying is good.

Hard to believe it has been 20 years.

Saw the first duel last night. It was "follow the leader" for the most part. Underwhelming. They made the length 10 laps longer to force teams to pit a number of years back. Now that race they all went fuel only. No tire strategy. If they're gonna do that, take it back to 50 laps & the 125 distance.

This new schedule - nice to add some new tracks - but why, if they want to go dirt, do they not go dirt on an established dirt track rather than putting dirt at Bristol?

Seemed like an opportunity to learn some from the COVID-reshuffled 2020 schedule and be able to work in scheduled midweek dates, as provide opportunity for some tracks to return to the schedule. Maybe it's too late. But Rockingham, Nashville Fairgrounds, North Wilkesboro, Gateway, Milwaukee, Nazareth (heck, does that track even exist anymore?)? Even if it's a concept like a Seniors tour that runs on the old classics - run with Cup cars but not necessarily in the points paying schedule.

The mid-week races didn't do well for ratings, and unfortunately no established dirt tracks can handle the circus that is the Cup series. Trucks could run Eldora because some of those guys are barely a step above bringing open trailers.

Nazareth unfortunately does not exist anymore. It's becoming a housing development finally I think. When it closed they took bleachers from there to Watkins Glen and other places, and dug up 10' wide sections of asphalt to prevent anybody form ever driving around the track again. And what a damn shame too.

dang. Reminds me of what Old Dominion Speedway looked like when I dropped in 7 years ago in Feb 2014. Superstructures were gone. Last race season was 2012. Cup raced there in the 60s, 3/8mi paved oval. They were supposed to reopen for 2013 but never did. The promoters later built a track down I-95 at the Thornburg exit (118), Dominion Raceway, but as yet have not been there. The site of ODS is now housing development. Only thing left is the big sign by the street - now Business 234 - but it no longer advertises the track. We did make a race night in August 2012, never knew it would be gone so fast. On the other hand, it lasted at least five years longer than it would have had the 2007 real estate crash not happened.

Better than my short videos, from the week after our last visit. I don't recall having seen those winged cars there!

I went to a ton of races at Old Dominion when I was stationed at Quantico.

Junior has a neat series on some channel where he goes and investigates old tracks.

Love the Nazareth chat. I've driven by where the old track used to be a few times.

The stuff on YouTube about North Wilkesboro always makes me sad to watch. The closure of that track was very emotional for a lot of people in the business (with the exception of the bastards in the C suite)

Nazareth was great as a drivers track, but not particularly great for racing. Elevation changes, distinct corners, it always looked like a challenge.
Ditto to Wilkesboro and the Rock. Places that were very unique but didn't fit into the cookie era NASCAR was entering.

It might be my rose tinted nostalgia but I thought I used to really enjoy the Rock races.

Yeah the Rock was a great racing track.

North Wilkesboro suffered from being too close to Bristol and Martinsville.

And remember during that era they tried to kill Darlington.
