Can anyone tell me what this tall fella in the foreground may be...we had seeds of something else in that pot and it doesn't match any other plants we have growing...

What have you tried? So far, all I've done is look out of the window of my home office and wring my hands as it slowly takes over the yard. THe previous owner had the lawn treated by trugreen (as we all may recall from a few pages ago when the trugreen guy showed up unannounced and uninvited) and didn't have a problem. but ya boy kangaroo is paying the price for inaction.

I have tried a few types of the general weed and feed with no luck. So researched a little and found that this is supposed to work

But it didn't. Further research shows just planting a bunch of grass seed might do the trick. So this fall I might just lay a bunch of seed down where it's prevalent (which is like everywhere now)

And if that doesn't work I'll call a trugreen type company in the spring. Hate to do it but this sht is getting out of control

You need Triclopyr or 2,4-d for creeping Charlie. If you don't mind planting a little clover it will help also, if clover is out of the question hit it with a heavy shot of nitrogen in about a month. Like 26-0-3 or some other winterizer

2,4-d is amazing stuff.

It likely moved in as the trugreen stopped applying heavy doses of nitrogen.

Just know if you put nitrogen on now you'll be mowing grass until Thanksgiving...

I plan on dousing my lawn in nitrogen come October. It sorely needs it

I cannot wait to the end of lawn mowing season. It's brutal in this humidity, and the grass is consistently moist.

Was at the bucco last night with my buddy. Besides complaining about the pirates and pitt (which we did, a lot), we also complained about creeping Charlie. He had some success with the ortho product that @Ad@m listed. He is also going with the overseeding solution as well, hoping to basically crowd out Charlie with grass. So ortho is going to be my step one (hopefully within a week or two).

When I first started reading this post, I wanted to make fun of you for being so domesticated now. Then you asked us about a weed... and I figured it's best I let you be :D

Looks like amaranth, Mikey. Aka pigweed. We had a ton of it growing in our front flower bed and we thought it was something we planted. It was not. Lol
