They're the band that you faintly hear from the bathroom while pissing before QOTSA play.
You've never heard of them? Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space is a classic.
I have not. And judging from that video, they're not really for me. Neither is QOTSA actually so maybe that pairing makes total sense.

Always a good sign when you clarify who one act you've never heard of is by explaining that their main guy was part of another act you've never heard of.

For both work and personal reasons, my memories of my first couple years out here were molded in part by OK Computer and The Colour And The Shape (second Foo Fighters album). Also the second Sheryl Crow album and, sadly, something by Everclear.

I would say the opposite and I really like both bands. J Spaceman was the interesting force behind S3. Just listen to Sonic Boom's solo records as Spectrum, etc.

Billy strings played a hell of a show last night, just an all around beautiful night with family. The under the sea tease put a smile on my daughter's face. Couple behind us ***** and whined the entire show about us and everyone else standing and dancing for its entirety. I can't remember the last time I heard such miserable people and it's funny because a lot of the songs last night were written about them. Security was not putting up with anyone lighting up doobies in our section last night. Vapes they were cool with. So much Nitrous afterwards, those people have to make a killing.

We got two Dylan covers (senor and drifters escape) which were awesome. That hide and seek melted brains. The flatt and Scruggs and doc Watson song Bill Cheatham had the entire place dancing. The talent of the musicians on stage was incredible, really special seeing a band in their prime like this

Standing around singing into the old timey diaphragm condenser microphone while the venue is quiet is also a nice way to end the show

I have a playlist of Dr. Demento and Bob Rivers style Christmas music and parodies. That's what I grew up with so they're my 'normal' idea of Christmas. Thanks Dad!

Hmmm $215 per ticket to see the Foo Fighters in Charlotte? And every time I click on two tickets, they disappear before I could purchase them (not that I was 100% going to buy today anyway.)
I saw them there in 2000 with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for $30 or something. And those were better seats.
I guess the $150 for Tyler Childers isn't so bad.

Yeah, that's been my experience trying to get FF tickets off Ticketmaster the last couple years. We got tickets through TM for their 2021 show at The Forum because it was still COVID-y out (e.g. mandatory indoor masking), and that flattened demand.
We have tix to see them at the LAFC stadium this coming August, but that's an outdoor venue that seats 25% more people and they're playing two shows. They've played a couple smaller venues here locally in the past and those tickets sell out usually before I can even get into the queue.

And I've had it happen a couple times in pre-sales where by the time I get into the actual ticket queue, some numbskull already has a live auction for that show on StubHub.

Anyhoo, I really enjoyed Grohl's memoir. I ended up finding the (streaming) audiobook at my local library and it was Dave actually reading it (and playing the music in between sections/chapters). Highly recommend. And stay past the credits - he tells a bonus story of getting invited to the George Harrison tribute concert in 2002.

Ticket prices are stupid right now. I just paid $250 for a pair to see DCFC and Postal Service. I saw DCFC twice during the original Transatlanticism tour and didn't pay more than $30 each time. I saw Rilo Kiley during the Execution of All Things and More Adventurous tours and probably paid $20 at most. Obviously that was 20 years ago and at clubs instead of arenas but it's still annoying.
