The look on the head of officiating's when Levy asked him why they didn't just recall the refs and play the last 2s was like, ".........I can do that?"

Think the XFL is dead again.. possibly for good.

https://www.profootballrumors.com/2020/ ... -shut-down

The XFL has suspended operations and laid off its entire workforce, as Field Yates of ESPN.com tweets. The XFL was already on the ropes thanks to the COVID-19 epidemic and this could prove to be the knockout blow.

Vince McMahon attempted to reboot his football league with a ten-game (re)inaugural season, but he was forced to shut things down halfway through. Initially, the XFL expressed confidence that it would return in 2021, but McMahon might be forced to close up shop on the XFL for a second time.

Any sportsbook have odds on the league folding before the first season ends...?
Missed opportunity for free money...

How much do they need for a bailout? Get on it, Mnuchin.

All that work just to play half a season. Really sucks for them. NFL is king.

The XFL is still planning on playing in 2021.

Though Covid-19 seems like a reason to void any betting on the league making it through one season.

I'm sure all the other leagues of this nature also planned on playing a second season too...

XFL was doing fine in the ratings and with attendance.

This isn't like the AAF.

The XFL suspended operations Friday morning, and multiple sources told ESPN that the league has laid off nearly all of its staff -- a handful of executives remain employed -- and currently has no plans to return in 2021.

XFL officially declares bankruptcy

Official bankruptcy filing: https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov ... 98.1.0.pdf

Any reason why all of the head coaches would use WWE XFL HQ as their home address?

They would've survived for at least one more season if not for COVID.

because that is public record and they don't want creepers showing up to their houses?

That seems like something that would drive Vince crazy. Rock got his start with Vince and quickly outgrew him. Now he's buying his failed product.

Tbf, Covid killed this era of the XFL. It was a far better product than the AAF.

It wasn’t bad. It had the same problem as other b and c leagues. The talent just isn’t there.

It was better than the first incarnation of the XFL, but it certainly wasn't great. It would have lasted a few years at most then folded. As nocera said the talent just wasn't there.

Was someone expecting the "talent" to be there?

I'm just saying that newness only gets you so far. Eventually people aren't going to want to watch subpar football on a regular basis (insert Pitt joke here) even if it's during a time when no other football is available.

Not at all. But nobody wants to watch bad football.

$15 million seems like nothing for an entire league.
