No clue about Donte but I’m very glad to see my most hated steeler in recent memory get traded away
Steelers 2024 Offseason Thread
So this frees up some insane cap does it not? I also thought Donte Jackson was a typo of Diontae Johnson lol

I would just think that it’s probably easier for them to get a solid WR2 in the second or third round as opposed to a starting corner.i assume this guy is a solid / not spectacular cb2. Then maybe just throw some money at Peterson to come be the slot corner.
And unless one of the plug and play tackles falls in round 1, it’s the Oregon center.

Great day in Steeler country

Makes the draft pretty interesting if nothing else. Figured it'd be OT, C, CB in some form for the first 3 rounds.
I don't like Donte, but I also think he's worth more than what they got back. Not sure they have enough WR depth to dump him, but FA is still open.

Wonder if we go after Calvin Ridley, degen gambler aside. Would provide alot of the things we wanted out of DJ

Calvin Ridley is an intriguing thought. Even Tyler Boyd or Tee Higgins.

The Steelers have been able to find and develop pretty good WR talent for like 10-12 years now. That's maybe the one offensive position I'm not fretting about as they go through the offseason.

Most of those are 2nd-3rd rounders and this team has a decent amount of holes and has still missed on plenty of WRs, too.The Steelers have been able to find and develop pretty good WR talent for like 10-12 years now. Sure. Sure sure. And half of drafted players will play in the NFL at some point, but only about a 1/3 or so make their draft team's opening day roster as a rookie. Nothing's guaranteed. But the Steelers have had some recent success at this one position, and so I bid fair winds and following seas to Mr Diontae without weight of heart.

I’m suddenly very interested in this upcoming season

So Pickens as the #1? What could go wrong?
Steelers 2024 Offseason Thread
Same. Not rooting, per se, but intrigued.

Glad he's gone, but now our #2 WR is Calvin Austin? Banking on a drafted WR to fill in is just silly. Despite their success, they still aren't perfect at drafting WRs. I assume they'll make a FA play...Sure. Sure sure. And half of drafted players will play in the NFL at some point, but only about a 1/3 or so make their draft team's opening day roster as a rookie. I chose my words very carefully in my post. I purposefully did not use “excited” or the like. Interested. Intrigued. You have my attention, StillersSame. Not rooting, per se, but intrigued.
