Brightwell's career peaked against Clemson in his freshman year. He's short for the position, was never particularly fast, the work to bulk him up from 195 to 230 has made him noticeably slower, and he was coming out of camp with an injury. **** happens; luckily, Pitt has plenty of LB depth to make up for it. Hopefully Elias Reynolds will be healthy moving forward, but I still can't believe how little traction Chas Pine has gotten at ILB.
I think Reynolds is gonna be out a few weeks more. I was wondering about him and then read this last night:

https://triblive.com/sports/deeper-rost ... -injuries/
Linebacker Elias Reynolds didn’t play but should return at some point.
Narduzzi obviously says nothing about injuries unless they are season-ending, but reading between the lines Jerry's saying he's gonna miss a couple more games.

Sagarin has Pitt favored in every game except @ Cuse from here on out
This can only mean bad things

Well **** then. I guess that means we're seeing a lot of Saleem the next couple weeks. Those two injuries also coincide with the debuts of Leslie Smith and Brandon George. If neither Reynolds nor Pine could go as backups I wonder which direction they would go.

I would imagine that kyle nunn might be an option, too. He gets a lot of run on special teams but I don't think has played a single meaningful minute at LB. That being said, Brandon George seems like he is ready to go.

Kyle Nunn has the look of a lifetime special teamer. I was thinking Brandon George as well, though maybe Phil Campbell could get a look inside due to coverage skills. Wendell Davis has the size but I think they've kept him on the outside. I'm interested to see what they do with SirVocea Dennis. He's got one more freebee before his redshirt is burned.

Man, that definitely hits me right in the USA Today nostalgia. That and the colorful weather map on the back.

super panthers vs the blue hens this weekend. I, of course, will be there because there is nothing more interesting than nearing the halfway point in a season an playing a team that is a 3+ touchdown underdog.

Things that would be nice to see:

a. A good running game and Vincent davis establishing himself as a bonafide #1 RB

b. no one get hurt

c. a multiple touchdown lead by the end of the first

d. sustained QB pressure by the front 4, whoever is playing

e. no one gets hurt

This is what I want to see. No more roller coaster seasons, Pitt.

I'm hoping for a game where the Mighty Panthers have enough of a lead over the Fightin Flaccos of Deleware that the second half can be manned by second and third stringers. Get guys some experience and keep the first string healthy.

I can't watch/pay attention to the game so I hope to read that Nick Patti threw for three touchdowns.

Me too. I want to be sitting there during the 2H enjoying a cool beer in the sun relaxed. Last week took a lot out of me.

Yes to all of this and especially a. Mostly because I'm afraid they'll just redshirt him and we won't see him until 2020

I believe the nard dog has stated Davis will not be redshirted this year at his presser this week

Yea, the entire running game has been ineffective, but Sibley and Carter have been barely more than worthless. There's no way they could redshirt Davis 2.0.

AJ Davis is the most tentative back I have seen in some time. He's constantly looking around to see who is going to hit him. He did it in the UPS game both times he got loose, slowing down and looking backwards to see how was gaining on him. Just run. Against UCF, he did what I dont think I have ever seen a RB back at any level do, which is see an absolute enormous hole with no one in sight and come to an almost full stop at the line in anticipation of a hit despite no one being within five yards of him. He doesn't seem to be a burner, and add to that the fact that he certainly seems to be one of those guys that is way slower on the field than he is in shorts.
