yeah, I have built my own desktop PCs since then. I think the Pentium II was the first CPU I used in my own build, and it was that weird vertical design CPU.

My first home build was some sort of 386 processor. Like an Intel 386DX or some ****. Ancient.

I've never built my own computer but I have very fond memories of Police Quest on the Tandy 1000 RLX.

I got to review product packaging today for the new 115" TV from TCL.

That number is hilarious

Except for the one laptop I've owned, I've never purchased a complete computer, although I have bought some "barebones" machines where I was just adding the CPU, memory, and hard drives. The first computer I built (in 1999) featured an AMD K6-2 450, 128MB of memory, and a 20 GB hard drive.

Put in a Ring doorbell at mom’s house and it’s unwired. Got it all set up and getting sparse response due to “very poor wifi connection.” Will any basic wifi extender plugged in near the front door help! See them on Amazon for $14 and up.

Just speaking from our own experience, I got a TP-Link AC750|RE215 for just that sort of purpose. Our home run is in one corner of the house, and some of the vitals (solar, doorbell, etc) are at the other. In our case, we already had network cable running to the living room, so we were able to hardwire the thing.

If it’s between the Ring and the router, maybe. Amazon’s return policy is solid enough that if it doesn’t, just return it for a refund. Also, try 2.4 instead of 5 for better distance on WiFi.

This looks pretty neat (mostly) but I'm still left wondering what exactly the use case is. Apple calls it spatial computing but is it really "computing" when basically all you can do is run iPad apps? Mirroring the Macbook screen is cool but it's limited to one screen so right there I'm out. The OS and integration with other your other Apple products is also cool but is it enough to set it aside from other VR headsets, which basically are game consoles that you use for a few weeks before putting it in the closet and forgetting about it? Despite Apple's best efforts, it still feels like an awfully isolating experience and one that I'm not so sure is better than, say, a Macbook or iPad. I guess it'd be cool to watch a giant 4K movie "projected" on your wall... by yourself. This is a neat first gen product. Maybe I'll consider it in gen 4 or 5 and with a huge price drop.

0.0 interest in this or the Metaverse but I could see then having uses in gaming.

Warner Bros. Discovery is preparing to launch a streaming service in partnership with ESPN / Disney and Fox Sports, as reported earlier by CNBC and Sports Business Journal. All three companies have agreed in principle to launch an as-yet-unnamed standalone app, of which they all share one-third ownership, this fall that streams a range of leagues and sports.

It is poised to have sports networks including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNews, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, and truTV. The new service will air games from the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the National Hockey League (NHL), along with NASCAR, PGA Tour Golf, Grand Slam Tennis, and more. Disney Plus, Hulu, and Max users will also get the option to bundle the new service.

I would think so. Guesses on the price? I'm going with $50/month.

This **** is getting annoying. For sports, I watch hockey, that's about it. I have no interest in this conglomerate of sports channels, and I'm sure not paying more than what I'm paying for ESPN+.

I’d guess it starts at $30. Though even at $30, that’s a pricey “add on” for Max users.

"will air games from blah blah leagues." All games, though? There are probably 10 offerings that have the games that are on NHL network, MLB network, ESPN, FS1, etc. If it doesn't have all the Pens games and preferably all NHL games, it doesn't move the needle for me.

Theoretically it should have all NHL games between ESPN and TNT, but I’m sure there will be some catch.
