Been about 2-3 weeks in a big boy bed and all is well except now lil mac keeps telling me a "Baby with button eyes" keeps coming in his room around 2-3 am
Dude, shortly after we moved my son a couple years back, he was suddenly deathly afraid of his bedroom camera, so I ended up getting rid of it because I got paranoid that someone hacked it or something.

Awww hell. I get my flu shot tomorrow. Thanks for the anxiety fellas.
Last year, my arm was sore as hell, just like hers. This year? Zero reaction at all.

It's your body trying to reject the poison in the vaccine.

I have A+ blood. Nanobots don’t survive in there. I’m good.

I'm hoping work has a flu clinic soon. Just got the survey email from HR about one, so I think they are gauging interest.

Friendly reminder that a lot of grocery stores and pharmacies will give you coupons if you get your free flu shot there. My local grocery store gives you a $10 off coupon for your next shopping trip.

I go to CVS for my flu shot since my work sends us a voucher for it for free or whatever. Need to schedule that actually.

Four years of flag football without scoring a touchdown, but this weekend with the linesman counting down the final seconds CBear4 caught a 10 yard pass, and then criss-crossed the field for another 35 yards to score the walk off TD while making 4 guys miss. I was so happy for him, he works hard at practice and is always playing in the yard but wasn't blessed with size or speed so the opportunities come rarely.
I need to make him a NFL Next Gen commercial of that

Coach stole his water bottle and squirted it on his head…then gave him some brownies that his mother had made, lol.

I think he was almost as excited as I was.

That reminds me. My two kids have unbelievable self-esteem. My 15 year old heard that the JV football team's QB was hurt, and he feels that he could make the team and be starting QB. He's played one year of flag football when he was in 5th grade. He's started jogging and throwing a football occasionally with his brother in the backyard. His friend, also 15, is the starting QB for the varsity team and has been playing the position exclusively since 7th grade. He attends QB camps each summer, works with a trainer, etc.

The other son - retired travel baseball player and now soccer player - thinks he is God's gift to futbol. He is very good, but there's not a lot of competition in a baseball and football "hotbed" of a town.

My wife and I roll our eyes when they start talking about this stuff, because I don't know where it comes from.

Yeah, C4 sees himself as a mini Tyreek Hill, and despite gentle insistence, he hasn't gotten the hint that he's got at least three strikes against him.

I'm glad kids are back in person at school, but I did not miss them getting sick and passing this stuff around the house. The amount of stomach bugs, colds and covid tests we've had in the last couple weeks has been a blast.

I'm glad my daughter is enjoying being back in school. Despite the 6 positives that we've been notified of (nobody in her class), it has been smooth.

Same. I wasn't sure how my daughter would readjust to being in school, but she has absolutely killed it so far this year.

My neighbor asked my daughter what her favorite vegetable was tonight. She said tacos. I’m doing something right.

:thumb:

Our daughter always ate what we put in front of her... Out son not so much. His vegetable intake is largely from pouches.

Just got an email from our daycare that they will no longer be supporting Fridays due to staff shortages. They are not allowing anybody to move their days around to accommodate.

We've been sending our kids there for the past 6 years, every Tuesday and Friday so my wife can work. I can't see how we are going to be able to work this out. I'm sure every other family will be scrambling to find an opening in the area, straining the system even more. Looks like our budget is going to take a hit and my wife will be back to not working Fridays. Which will further strain the hospitals where she works.

Oof. How long until they make the transition?

At what age did your child start wiping their own ass (mainly at daycare)?

They started when she went to the pre-school room (3 years old). We let her do it herself at home, but we still follow up to make sure everything is good.

baby meow is home with me today after getting four vaccines yesterday. I must have forgot how rough the four year visit is.

Email came out today, said it's effective Oct 18th. So they really screwed us here. They said they hope to have somebody hired by the New Year, but by that time we'll either have transitioned to a new facility or played with our budget to the point where we won't go back on Fridays anymore.

Okay. Yeah, I guess I didn't know that they don't help at the 3 year old preschool room, and now we need to work on it at home
