Too many people would have a chance to vote, that's why.

This is pretty fascinating. None of our last three Presidents were even on the radar when their preceder was sworn in.

Bingo. I think the only reason a lot of people go out to vote is because it's something they can do either on their way to or on the way home from work. I'll bet if it was a holiday, a lot of people would choose to do other things (lounge at home, do a project, etc), and voting would get put by the wayside.

Trump will give comedians around the world endless material UNPRESIDENTED!

I will really miss President Obama. I did not agree with a lot of what he did but I knew what he did was because he thought it was right for the country.

His family is awesome too, not that it matters but the Obamas and Bidens were caring good people like the Bush clan and watching them in these times was endearing to watch.

I am just really sad to see them go. He had beautiful sentiments towards all Americans and people of the world.

Also I am looking forward to the countless documentaries about him.

I don't see why Inauguration day isn't a national holiday.
I'd agree on election day... not so much inauguration.
I mean, it's a pretty huge day for our nation. I may not support the guy, but I'd like to hear what he has to say and be able to get drunk during it.
Are there still liquor laws out there for election day? I worked part time at a Rite Aid in college, and weren't allowed to sell liquor on Election Day. Not even the presidential, this was midterms. A state law, I'm sure, but didn't know if it was like that in other places. Boy did that enrage the daily's we had that would stop in after work and pick up a pint every single day at the exact same time.
