I'm big on barrel aged, but that's not the barrel I want. I would probably try it just to say I've tried it though.
You in the Burg? Today...

Barrel aged beer night today, starting at 4... BOOM!

I've been reading a little and may experiment with Oberon and grapefruit soda 75/25 and make a radler. Sounds pretty promising

Tonight's line up:

1. Boulevard's Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale - awesome... definitely one of the best saisons I've had.
2. Revolution's Galaxy Hero - fantastic IPA. very citrusy and floral.
3. Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour - Always a winner in my book.

I might head back to that bar at some point this week while I'm here in Chicago. Great stuff on tap there.

I had a couple now DIPAs tonight: Lagunitas Waldo's Special Ale and Fat Heads Head Shrinker. The Lagunitas is a pretty big beer. It was listed at over 11% and it tasted like it. If I can taste a lot of alcohol in DIPAs I tend to think that they are a bit cloying. This had a bit of that, but it's a pretty good beer. The Head Shrinker was good. Reminded me a bit of headhunter, a bit danker and maybe a little boozier.

I saw Waldo's Special Ale tonight, but I had to drive, so I thought better of it... I was happy with the beers I chose.

Good choices, indeed.

If you're downtown, you should try to make it to Binny's. When my wife was there last spring she was able to find me three Fantomes that I hadn't tried. Gotta try Fantome if you're a saison fan.

Has anyone been to Banger Brewery in Las Vegas?

I'm going back to Las Vegas in July. If we end up on Fremont Street to do Slotzilla (the zip line), may stop in afterwards.

Had Flying Monkey Chocolate Stout at Market District Iggle in Robinson. Tastes nothing like the 10% that it advertises. Very chocolaty, very sweet, not at all boozy. Normally I might be upset with the $9 price tag on a chocolate stout (even one that's 10%), but it's that good.

I'm interested in how my posting will look several hours from now.

Three-Eyed Raven.

This is by far the most interesting of the 3 GoT beers I've tried. It's a bend of a dark ale and a saison, and that is what it tastes like, more or less. So it's like a saison with a roasted flavor. If that sounds interesting to you, you should try it. If it doesn't, don't bother.

I'd rate it as better than Fire and Blood, but not as good as Valar Morghulis.

Had Surly Furious and Three Floyds Dreadnaught tonight. Both were absolutely fantastic. If you have a chance to try either, give 'em a try.

Honestly I've been wanting to try it for a while but never had seen it on tap or in a variety pack. Finally found it in the latter. It's excellent
