It's one of my favorite portraits of all time. The subject was a beekeeper and Avedon made just 2 portraits. That was the one that ended up in the collection.

One of the many great treats of being married to Mrs Tif is that her college degree is Japanese, and she minored in Japanese art. So when we go to museums with great collections (Philly, Chicago, L.A., soon-to-be-SF) it's like having my own private guided tour.
