When I was living and working in the Philly burbs, I saw black squirrels all the time. No, there isn't a joke there.

The Wiki article is actually interesting... Most of them are in Michigan.

I went out into my backyard last night and noticed a rabbit sitting in a pinestraw bed about 3 feet away from where I was. Usually, they take off at the sound of humans, but she was just chilling. Her rear end was quivering a bit, so I figured she was dropping a deuce...so I left her alone. I went off for a few minutes and came back and the rabbit was still there. As I got closer, she sprang away a few feet and stopped, and started grooming herself.

I looked where she had been sitting and there were three wee babies in the pinestraw. By the time I'd gone back into the house and got my wife to outside, (30 seconds or so) the bebes had burrowed down into the ground. Mom was still a few feet away, cleaning herself after dropping triplets. What's interesting is that baby rabbits are quiet; no squawking like birds or other animals. Very much prey-like behavior.
