Scotty Bowman also won 9 Stanley Cups without Tom Brady, so jot that down.

The guy is a gunner. He does one thing. We aren't inducting long snappers either.
Miscommunication on my part. In this case meaning special teams in totality, not in Matthew Slater's individual case. I dont care about him and his legacy.

of course who knows what really happened but based on he evidence that came up through the case it really seems like Araiza was innocent
The San Diego County District Attorney's Office did not file criminal charges against Araiza or the other two teammates, stating, "Ultimately, prosecutors determined it is clear the evidence does not support the filing of criminal charges and there is no path to a potential criminal conviction".[33] Prior to the announcement, the office met with the accuser and her attorney to discuss their decision to not press charges.[34] Based on a witness and other information, the district attorney's office stated that Araiza could not have been involved as he had "left the party at 12:30 [am]",[35][36] about 30 minutes before the first of about nine short videos of sex acts of the alleged encounter.[34] The accuser's lawyer said that the witness was a "buddy".[35] Araiza does not appear in the videos, each less than 10 seconds long.[34][35] According to the accuser's lawyer, police had the accuser make a pretext phone call to Araiza wherein he admitted that they had sex, which he said was consensual, claimed that the accuser lied to him about her age[37][38] and said that he remained outside afterwards "for the rest of the party."[38] On July 28, 2023, Araiza filed a defamation lawsuit against his accuser.[39]
At this point I feel bad for him because his career was derailed by what’s seeming like a false accusation. Though I am a little surprised the Chiefs are dropping Pete Townsend for him

Dropping a punter that will demand more money that you can use on a Chris Jones or a WR is a no brainer.

Going to see a lot of franchise tags, bails out a couple of teams like the dolphins and the bills i think.

Any notion that the steelers would sign a CB in FA is probably nixed by this. Might be worth signing the Cole upgrade at C, another ILB guy to replace Alexander, and a safety. Then look at T, CB, and WR in the first couple rounds of the draft.

I’d rather just spend money on a decent corner in FA. Use money save by cutting Pat Pete and Cole to fill that spot. Then sign a free agent safety and go on from there

The Drive podcast ran through the FA class this week on their show, focusing on the Steeler positions of need. CB FA class isn't going to be worth it. Johnson and Sneed will probably get tagged, so the rest of the pack are mid level guys. I mean sure, you can sign Levi Wallace, or someone like that short term, but you really don't want to be paying a mid level guy like an all pro. Better off filling that need in the draft.

Didn’t realize Johnson was getting tagged. So yea probably with you then.

We really need to fill at least two needs in free agency.

@MalkinIsMyHomeboy thought you might enjoy this. I watch this guy from time to time. He’s a Broncos fan but does other NFL stuff that is entertaining.

You can watch about two of his videos before he becomes painfully unfunny.

Does anyone else find Rich Eisen to be incredibly boring. His voice and cadence just sap all energy away from whatever he’s discussing.

His SC and even announce versions are fine. His “Rich Eisen Show” version is droll.
