Had a chance after OSU chose to go for it on 4th and 3 or whatever in field goal range (up 3... I kinda get it but whatever).
We pick up 5 yards in 1st down and then decide on 2nd to try a bum ass run play between the tackles that worked soo well all game... then that out of bounds play, then it's 4th and 5 again and NOW they punt.
Cannot stand Franklin's game management
Going for it on 4th down when you're up 7-3 that early in the game is so incredibly stupid when your defense is playing well. I'd much rather get that 3 and out from their 15 yard line instead of from midfield. OSU punts it back and now they have the field position advantage. Franklin just can't seem to get out of his own way with some of the decisions he makes.
The bubble screens/quick outs were working all night to the overloaded side. Use that spread formation to help your run game. Any time we have 3 WRs and they only had 2 DBs out in coverage it was a solid 8 to 12 yards, every time.
Yurcich has done a lot more for this offense than Ciarrocca did last year but this constant stubbornness to finally bust an RB through a non-existent hole in the middle of the line has cost this team in all 3 losses. They just don't understand what they have that works and continue to stick with it. Against Iowa, they decided that Roberson couldn't make those throws and it stunted the offense. Last week was some of the most unimaginative BS on offense I've seen since 2003-04. Last night was a polar opposite but they refused to keep going with those stretch throws across the field. 29 carries for 33 yards (which includes the Clifford sacks) and not one RB that you'd trust to do anything right now is not a place you want to be 8 games into a season.
