Their 7-4 record was fraudulent. They were never that good. Baltimore and Cleveland handed them games earlier in the year. They probably should have lost to GB too.

The luck they had in close games was never sustainable. An at or near .500 team is who they are.
I'm told they're in the top 9 of teams, tho.
I remember that. You were like, “wow, the ILB depth is shockingly thin, an injury there is likely to have a massive impact and turn the unit as a whole to ****”.

Yeah, it was definitely that, and not just bland complaining

It's wild how a team could lose their QB and all their middle linebackers and then both safeties and lose games

Excuses out in full force I see. Other teams also are also playing with backup or third string qbs and also dealing with injuries to key players…yet they find ways to score more that 15 points a game.

Injuries obvious matter but the Steelers are way closer to a .500 team than the inflated record they had earlier in the year.

The defense made enough splash plays to cover up for the offense in a few games this year. Once they lost some guys and were on the field even more they couldn’t cover up for the offense anymore and all those close games that went the Steelers way tipped the other direction.

Everyone was slobbering over the offense after the Cincinnati game for some reason. They showed the slightest signs of life against one of the poorer defenses in the league (especially against the run). All of a sudden the offense was going to be magically better….then they reverted back to the norm which was trash.

The Steelers were never a good team this year they were average at best cause the defense kept the offense afloat. Their record now is basically who they really are.

I don’t even know why I care so much to type all that out lol. Watch the 49ers lose to the Cardinals today for my ranting.

Kind of like how the 49’ers looked terrible with Samuel out.

Yeah, everyone deals with injury, some injuries are more impactful than others.

I also like all these imagined memories about what we were saying about the Steelers. They were 7-4 and better than the other mediocre teams in the league.

So, yokes on all our faces, guess what, they are not better than the other bad teams in the league.

It's not an excuse, they still should have beaten Arizona and New England, and possibly Indy. But it's just a different team now than the one a month ago, if you're gonna say I told you so
