My question is was the recognition immediate, like right when they opened the door or greeted them......or was there some time where each of them was trying to figure out how they'd met or where they'd seen each other before.

Like, was it after dinner and the dad opens a second bottle of wine.
Dad asks mom 'More wine?'
Mom says 'oh yeah, fill me up'
Boyfriend says 'ooo, me next!'

and then they all stand up like
